‘All Singers for TVB Annivesary Special 2007’ was held last night. Despite there being 60 singers divided into red and white group to compete against each other, the groups were largely made up of newcomers, making the show boring to watch. During the whole night, ‘commander-in-chiefs’, Dodo Cheng and Eric Tsang worked hard to raise the atmosphere while music industry elders, Alan Tam, Teresa Carpio, George Lam and Susanna Kwan performed to support the competitors. The faults throughout the show fully exposed the waning talent in the Hong Kong music industry. At the beginning of the show, singers lined up and introduced themselves one after the other. This was followed by bickering between the ‘red’ boys group and ‘white’ girls group, which was atrocious. In the confusion, Twins, who was standing in the front row, was suddenly separated by Stephanie Cheng. Stephanie began dancing in between Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung. Performances include George Lam singing while the red group played their guitars and Susanna Kwan singing with Stephanie Cheng and Janice Vidal. Jade Kwan, Bianca Wu and Elanna Kwong did pole dancing. New father, Hacken Lee, made a surprise appearance at nine o’ clock and began handing out cigars backstage. Despite being earlier invited by Stephen Chan to participate in the ‘party’, Hacken did not perform. Instead, he came later to announce the competition results. Hacken revealed that his little boy Ryan has been given the Chinese name Li Lap Yan/Li Li Ren(李立仁) and that both his son and wife are doing well. Hacken then jokingly said that he has not been diagnosed with post-natal depression. The singer then disclosed that his ‘maternity leave’ is drawing to an end, so he will be returning to work soon. I remember watching it long time ago when the 4 heavenly king is still popular, the show was so good but now is so boring. The part I think is the most stupid is the pole dancing, oh please this is an anniversary show w/ the whole family watching and they are singer. If they watn to dance do some other dance, is so boring seeing them trying to seduce people or just trying to expose themself.
the only thing i liked when i saw it was the introduction i thought that was pretty clever to get the singers to introduce themselves in a line....cause there certainly is a handful of new artist that people don't know and need intros to.
stephanie cheng's last cd sucked ass lol, don't like her anymore, well she's still hot though lol. show looks boring.
i have to agree it wasnt as great as the years before i didnt know half the people and i missed all the old people and how they made the show accually enjoyable to watch and funny the people in it this year didnt have very great talent the years before when they accually brought the old people in and had real talent it was really nice to watch but this year was a disapointment
the singers now days, they just care about the popularity of their songs not their content+quality...that's the thing i hate about.
i just watched it cause it was on tv. it was soooooooo bad. soooo bad..... on a side note, that (old) lady that sang at the very end with alan tam, freaking annoys me. she doesn't sing. she just wails. it is like she has to be heard. all i heard from her was, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH".....
