You can't do a lot with a degree if your grade isn't decent, regardless of your major of study. Considering the number of university/college degree being handed out on a annual basis, I don't think anything less than a spectacular grade would land anyone finding a job or graduate school.

And GPA is meaningless to a certain extent, considering the admissions office do "give and take" according to the school the mark comes from (if the school isn't prestigious or anything, they may not get an edge even though numerically it's still a 3.9).

I thought college was a pain in the butt...but it's not as bad as University! Wait till the mid terms period, that's when the fun begins -sweat Really don't get how uni students get to party all the time while they have so much crap to do! Hate it especially when I need to spend time on studying for some useless class, that is mandatory, while I can spend my time on something else more important~-censored Stressed and drained -dead

Well it's not necessarily 'harder' per se... but science courses do eat up a lot of your time, especially when you've got a full course load plus 3-4 3 hour labs per week to attend to....

Of course, assignments aren't as difficult...

But it's just that I had a few friends who were in all sciences courses last year, and then made a 180 cross-turn into the arts faculty - and they admit - it is definitely way more 'slack' and 'easier' compared to being in sciences the year before.

    But I guess it varies.

I personally do both, not sure if I've got best (or worst) of both worlds, still have labs, PLUS the endless readings on a weekly basis...

yea they do have like the tests and stuff for like law school and medical school and stuff. One of my roommates plans for harvard. He tells me they don't even consider you if your GPA doesn't meet their mininium. a 3.8 is 25%-75% of their acceptances. He needs a 3.9 to be in the top percentile. Plus i think they also want u to have a score of 170 of 180 on that test. Tuff stuff

I'm lucky I don't have to take all those Chemistry, Biology or Physics classes at my University since I'm in the Business Major. All my friends who have to take Chemistry are stressing over their tests and even attend off campus tutoring to catch up in those classes. Everyone should relax a bit while and in between studying. I find it hard on myself to study straight hours and I end up doing nothing at all.

    yeah thats sooo true
hafing been there and done it all, balance is the main thing =)
plus its natural to stress, means that its actually important to u

guess the best thing to do is, study throughout the session, the nite b4 cram sessions don't work very well, wen u have multiple exams!

ewwww bing..... j/k don't worry about the load of work and what anyone else does there. just worry about yourself and what you need to do to get good grades. that's about all you can really do. other then that just know your first two years are usually the worse one's after that your classes will get a little easier and you will be able to have fun.

  18. gyus, all of you must enjoy your school time or college time, it's the most fun time, i used to be like you, complaining about stuff, well just enjoy it, lots of friends

when u graduate, u can't do that anymore, u must responsible for your own life, money, and so many thing else. In your work life u can't enjoy that much, so many colleagues has bad intend, everyone has his own priority. If you do something stupid, then you get fired, and no income. compare with your study life, friends to get fun, your responsible just to get A or B or C ehehehe

    so stop complaining :) hehehehe
