i recently bought a few new games for my pc like pes08 n tf2 n i realise its lagging n have to put my setting on medium, graphics looks crap n blocking, i want a new pc but dont have they money so im probably upgrade my pc i planning to get a 8800GT graphics card but u reckon it supports my pc my pc spec dont know much about motherboard amd dual core x2 4200 1gb ram gfx: 7600GS<<<piece of shit
as long as your current motherboard supports PCIe (which i suspect it does) and your power supply can handle it, no probs just remember to uninstall the display drivers before you put the new card in also probably get another gig of RAM to be safe you should be able to play anything up to crysis even
Yeah, as long as your mainboard supports PCI-E, it should be fine. Your powersupply should also has a seperate supply for PCI-E because the 8800GT needs it. If it don´t have the supply, you can buy one from maplin or some shops where they sell spareparts. Maybe they supply the converter with the graphic card, but i´m not sure. Just hate it to reognize that a cable is missing when i´m nearly ready to play ^^. In order to play newer games in an approciate speed you also need to get another 1GB of Ram as dim8sum said b4. During Christmas u can also get anoter CPU if ur mainbaord suports it. It´s so cheap at the moment.
^if its AM2 X2 then yeh he can pick up a newer processor for dirt cheap now but if hes running an old 939 X2 like me -cry2, he will have to stick to what hes got
another stick of ram would be good... and really really double check that PSU... u need more power to run more power
so how do i check wat power supply i got? found out u need aleast 600 watt to run the 8800gt fully what do u mean crystal "i need a seperate supply for PCI-E" ???????????????????????? i need 2 power supply?...........
No you don´t need a second PSU, you just need to check if your current PSU has a special power cord for PCI-E cards. It should be a 6pin, not like a normal molex 4pin. You don´t need a 600W PSU unless u have a big Tower with 4 Optical Drives, 8Harddiscs and a lot of USB devices. A good 450W PSU is enough, remember a lot of manufacturers advirtise theri products like 600W oder 900W, but in fact its just like 400W. Those manufac. are most likley noname companys. For myself I prefer Bequiet or Enermax PSU. One of those with 450W and u will get no problems.
it should be labled on ur PSU somewhere telling u the wattage... like crystal said, 450w should be enuff, i'd opt for something larger, 550w maybe, just cuz i have a few things running >.<... but the key is to get a good PSU... Corsair's do a good job
got bad news, just open my pc case n its completely covered in 6 layers of dust lol my PS is only 380 watts :( pretty much
^380 is prob not enough, youd get problems with stability.... tf2 should run fine on a 7600GS, or does it not?? and i would also think pes2008 is not exactly a graphically demanding game, my friend runs it on a ATI 9600pro and its half decent
380 is definitly not enough for a 8800GT, and i am pretty sure u dont have the 6pin connector for the PCI-E card. What brand is it? if you are very, and I mean really ver very lucky, u will get it workin tih ur current PSU. But for me stability is more important, because instability can cause loss of data and thats not what i want ^^ Spend another 50bugs for a good PSU, thats what I would do if i were u.
What mobo do you have cause that's really important info when updating a card. Is your 7600gs an AGP or PCI-E? If ur still using an AGP than you most likely have an old mobo that doesn't have a PCI-E x16 slot so you'll have to update ur mobo too cause there arn't any 8xxx series AGP cards as far as I know. If you have a PCI-E x16 slot on ur mobo than ur good to go. Best update ur PSU to atleast a 550 watt, also. Then if I were you I'd think about getting a Q6600 CPU and another gig of ram. Make sure the ram ur getting is clocked the same as the one you have cause it's useless to add faster and more expensive clocked ram to a slower clocked ram cause your system will just slow the faster ram down to match the slower ram if you know what I mean. And find out what type of ram your mobo uses just to be sure. I suggest you check newegg.com for your hardware. A 2gig set of Corsair ram only costs 100 bucks. And I suggest an EVGA video card. Can't beat their warranty.
True dim8sum! p3ps1c0la is nearly replacin the entire System and see what hongkongboy said at the beginning: Also, NOBODY" absolute nobody needs a QuadCore CPU at the moment.
lol sorry lads forgot to mention i bought this piece of shit from comet lol was only £599 2 years ago lol i find it bargain i think is had pci slots anyway i mean my pc runs fine for just surfing the web burning dvds etc.. no problem at all works like a dream tbh its just the gaming its struggling tf2 works fine but sometimes lags a bit thats all pes is the worse! think the lag is gettin out of control, im a big fan of pes n cant believe they made the game soo good that my pc cant handle it. i just finish playin a match on it n it lag like fuck eventhough its on medium settings! i think i probably saved up a pc xmas soon my 18th bday so i hope i get some cash or something atm i got exactly £200! GBP lol long way to go need aleast £10000 i got the money in the bank but dont like taking my life saving money out lol i got i fink 2.4k but thats important money for my marriage n stuff
if u got around 240pounds it should be fine, search for 8800gt for around 170 and a psu for about 5bugs.
man sooo many new games out atm i can't even play my comp is way old...but i've got no money to get a new one :( haven't touched games for about a year, but Call of duty 4 looks porn!!
