it also depends on the length of the epis cos if it is short then it should be fine, short in being 10 mins for each. lol. max i would put is prob 200 mins on one dvd. that way quality should be ok.

the most episodes of anything iv ever gotten on 1 DVD was seven 35 minute animes. if you had dual layer you could double that... or you could just toss 12 on the single layer and lose alot of video quality lol

its called hddvd or something like that which is a fake copy of original stuff, you can get it all over the US, especially Los Angeles for sure, you get like about 20 episode on a dvd disc which the image are above vcd level but lower than dvd... still pretty cheap though.. $2-$3 per disc (60 ep of DOLTVB=3 disc...)

just buy the fake dvds instead =P
which i have quite a few (saves me dl hehehe, especially korean ones, as its harder to find)
they're usually dual layer or have been over-burnt

    back to op's qn
u said u got episodes (what format/size/quality) are they in?

    as others have mentioned
simple solution, reduce quality and burn

    1 dvd = approx 4.7gb = approx 4700 mb
    4700/12 = approx 390mb an episode
so just make them all about 350mb each and burn and ur done =)

i tried burning it before.. but i never got it to work so well lol so i gave up.. i can burn like 30 ep of 40mins or so onto 1 dvd using mp4 format.. only works if your dvd player can play mp4.. lol

LOL i actualy did made a 12 episode anime 40 min (bleach series) on single layer b4, no loss in quality. What i did was same as normal 12 episodes normal quality at v: 720 x 540 a: 320 kbps 41000 - results in 8 gigs to mpeg 2 format. Made image then use DVD SHRINK and made it 4.4gigs ^^

Was kinda into it back then

i dunno how u did that. does dvd shrink rele not lose any quality. it must have compressed it and removed stuff from it. it could have lowered the audio quality but it might not have been visible thats all.

you can try buying a dvix capable dvd player. These are quite inexpensive and are available from many manufacturers. Just copy your dvix files or most avi file onto a data disk and you can play them directly on a player. A 4.5 gig disk will hold 12-13 episodes

I have 2 xvid dvd players - problems is it can't sync with audio and vid- due to the spin run of the dvd scanner itself, once it stuffs up u need to stop and replay >.< and fast forwarding is A HUGE PROBLEM!

i haven't noticed any problems with my Philips player. Maybe you should cross check you brand against the Dvix players list from their web site. Fast forwarding isn't much of a problem since you can jump directly to the individual files and fast scan is pretty quick.

    good luck

I personally think 12 is the absolute limit for a DVD with 42 min episode drama's on,

The way I do it is use WinAVI to convert it using lowest quality setting but it is still like 750MB per episode roughly,

Edit out the main titles and virtually all the end credits and create a DVD then shrink it to single layer size and burn to DVD.

It looks ok on a 36" CRT TV and my parents have no complaints, if watching on something smaller it should look pretty good
