I've made a girl 1000 cranes before(~5 years ago) =P It took a long time, and I would be folding them all the time, like on the bus, when I'm at home sitting in front of the computer, and even during lectures in class -_-" in the end of it all, i figured out a 'shortcut' way of folding cranes quite a bit faster. But, ya, I'm not with that girl now and if my current girlfriend knew about it, I'd be dead, lol (she'd be, like, why don't you do that for me??!?) Anyway, here's how it looked like: I don't think I could quite fit them all in there, so the remaining ones I put in a paper bag, lol. And I also had a Ding Dong and a Pochacco also since she liked both of them, and I put them in the basket also, but... the basket wasn't quite big enough, so I ended up with a.... err... not that great looking setup *cough* It doesn't quite look right " But then... I realized something AFTER I had given it to her. Well.... what is she going to do with 1000 cranes...? (It takes up quite a bit of space)
1000 cranes is a lot of work, I did that too, once, not for a lover though, for my mum, and she really appreciated it, even though she said its a waste of paper, she couldn't keep the smile off her face. We threaded them all and hung them along the wall in the house.

if he's smart enuf to b my man he's figure out diamonds would work better than paper cranes i'm not sure... this was way back in when i was in primary skool... it's abt this lil girl called Sadako who had leukemia n one day she saw a dying guy with the same disease makeing paper cranes so she asked him y he was doing that n he told her if he makes 1000 he gets a wish from the magical crane n he can get well again... so she started doing the same thing... it's a true story... there's statue of her in Hiroshima n every yr ppl bring thousands of cranes to her statue...
i didn't know of the story behind 1000 cranes, but i made that for my ex.... how so not fuN! haha jk... i just did it slowly, whenever i had time. i haven't posted in awhile, did ne1 miss me? lol... i won't be on much, school is kicking my ass.... -.- big time!

i think 1000 cranes is a sweet thought.. but it should mean something special between you two.. like if the first flower you gave her was a rose.. and then you folded her a 100 roses.. hahha or not.. or like you want to grant her a wish? personally id prefer a necklace.. with a special symbol or something.. then i can bring it around not that i couldnt bring 1000 cranes around.. but that's just kind of weird hahhah
