hehe... I just realised that this site and many other sites dont seem to have income...how do the ppl make money to pay for the cost of maintaining the site? PA, google, yahoo, etc,...dont tell b.c it is a public company etc,,,there must be sonething there, ads?
yahoo and google are hugely based on ad revenues. if you do a search in google, the highlighted links on top and the links on the right side are all paid ad space. Generally, sites like PA, generate revenue from ads, its right above your post. Some ads are PPC (pay per click) and others are based on unique visitors.
from what my understand is, some sites are like not but not all some as long as you have the ads visible on your page you still get paid, but some require clicking which is x cents per click per ip per time session? but yeah, its either donations or ads that help but usually webmasters have to dig into their own pockets most of the time >.<

I'm in the advertising industry, so I can help you if you have any other questions. Websites usually make money either from Ads or people that subscribe to the sites. Corporations like Yahoo and Google are making big bucks because they pay independent sites for their space so they can then sell that space to customers that are aiming to sell their products or service to the people who visits those sites. It will be like a lecture if I continue...lol, the corporations all have their own advertising packages. Remember the news where google bought youtube for around $1 billion? yea....Google is losing money for doing that. because people that goes on youtube don't really pay attention to anything else beside the video they are watching.
yea...the money coming from the ads is prob very little no? like I clcik on it a few times...that all then the question is do PA make $$$?
One ad click doesn't get you a fortune, but when you've gained a big enough group of users the money starts to count up. I mean how many people use Google everyday? Yahoo? MSN? Windows Live? Facebook? MySpace? They all rely on ads, or some type of income involving third part influences. As for PA ads prob. Cause if you think about it. PA is not as hard to maintain as other sites due to the fact that it does not require HUGE POWERFUL servers compared to the servers being used at other sites. Or maybe B-Lee, Ang and Shinobi are just nice guys and pay for everything out of their own pocket
