I consider myself chinese. But born in ireland and parents from hk i donno but 1 thing is for sure chinese blood runs thru me so i think im chinese
i heard many people mention honkongnese, but people define them as chinese. - people with black hair, black eyes and slightly yellow skin. if your parents are one english and one chinese, then you are considered to be half chinese and half english. It actually runs in your blood depend what race are your parents.
I was born in china but left for the states at like 3yrs old and grew up in the states and conside myself a pure chinese , i mean i look chinese and i speak it although i can't wirte in chinese but i still consider myself purely chinese.Just consider myself corrupted by my lifestyle lol
maybe its just in australia, moreso maybe even just in melbourne. if you say your chinese the next question that would commonly come next would be "ARE YOU MAINLANDER?" and if you said "yes" everywhere and everyone would just go "ewww" which i dont udnerstand myself. im ABC and im Half Hongkie and half Mainlander (guangzhou) but put simply i just say im chinese and proud of it =)
it doesnt seem as simple an answer with me. i was born and raised in the uk, but my parents are chinese. id say i was chinese but it would kind of depend on the people i was around, i dont mean that in a 'im not proud of who i am' sort of way, just that there are a lot of people who seem more chinese than i would consider myself, at least in terms of chinese culture. simply though i see ethnicity and nationality as 2 seperate things, my nationality is british but ethnically in chinese.
A friend of mine once said she thinks of me as a totally Swede but I never even considered myself a Swede, even though in my mind and the way of thinking is a bit Swedish/ Western. I'd call myself a Western Chinese. ^^ Not that fond of Sweden either, maybe that's why I don't see myself as a Swede.
I was born in UK and definately don't consider myself as British but Chinese.. but I don't think I comfortably fit in either.. I'm a banana.
DEFINATELY consider myself chinese. Grandparents born: China Parents born: Vietnam Me born: England Nationally: British Ethnically: Chinese/Vietnamese Considered: Chinese I speak ONLY chinese and not vietnamese, and my parents say to me we're chinese so I go with that, no point confusing people, I just call myself a BBC British born Chink. x
lol so my parents are chinese and im just an australian born to chinese parents? lol Ofc im considered chinese, what else can i be refered to....... A aussie asian? lol

lol, mine's like yours... only: Grandparents - Hong Kong Mum - Hong Kong Dad - Vietnam Me - S.Wales and yeh, same as you what I speak. And why wouldn't you conder yourself not chinese though if you WASN'T born in hong kong/china??
I consider myself Chinese but just an American citizen. I was born in HK but live in US. I feel bad for those who are Chinese but do not consider themselves Chinese. Just look in the mirror.
My ancestors are 100% chinese so I don't think where I was born would affect what I am + I look sooo chinese =)
