The Game Plan w/ the Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, pretty predictable, but i would recommend it to anyone who likes cute kids and really corny jokes, but so corny, that it's funny!
old old old flick...but always meaning to watch it as lots a people recommended it and it was good....i liked it..
Sweeney Todd... Overrated. Despite Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Timothy Spall, Alan Rickman, Sacha Baron Cohen and Tim Burton, it was nowhere near as good as I thought it was (and I was being generous in my low expectation) So disappointed.
:(. You didn't like it? Well I still need to watch it, but I just haven't had the time as of late. Hopefully after exams are done I can catch up on the huge amount of movies on my to watch list.
sweeny todd looks good cause of cast and tim burton, but another movie shot down by hiake....waiting for torrent lol....only movie i wanted to see now though is cloverfield, just to see if it's a disappointment lol...anyways last thing i watched, first 5 minutes of firefly hahaha, probably gonna start and get addicted to that show since everybody praised it soo much....
i didn't really like sweeney todd either .. i was really excited to see it, but then halfway through the movie i just wanted to leave =\
^excited cause of johnny depp? haha, but this another critically acclaimed movie so i gotta watch it no matter what, excuse my habits for hopping on the bandwagon lol.... maybe it's weird because it's a musical and a horror-ish movie, dunno....
^ lol, well yes johnny depp was a part of it ... but i was excited because everyone was saying how good it was. and then i watched it, and i was like DISAPPOINTMENT maybe my standards were just too high ...
I didn't hate it, just not liking it as much as I would (as per Tim Burton tradition to me ) LOL, I just go around shooting down random films. Did I mention "Across the Universe" was overkill and lacking a plot? I didn't want to leave, just became indifferent (to almost everything in the film). The (possibly) intentionally artificial looking, over-photoshopped art style was kind of too much IMO. It wasn't as coveted and artful as some other Tim Burton films... It was darker than I though, if that's at all possible, and let us not forget it's 18A rating. Lots of blood spilled on screen. I don't know, I didn't particularly like the songs (possibly because I wasn't familiar with them) and it all seemed so... comical.
who's gonna go watch Meet The Spartans?? just the Nicole Parker part alone made me want to watch it!!!
Don't get me started with that movie. I saw the trailer on TV and my IQ dropped by at least 2 points.
imma bout to drop dead every time i hear that they gonna spoof somethin, after scary movie 1 (kinda inspiration for the widespread producing of these spoofs) or so everything feels the same or worst and they aren't even funny at all, pure ridiculous shit. really no point. and usually they become blockbusters or hits, that pisses me off. even though nicole parker is funny, i think an episode of madtv is probably better than the whole spoof and better yet, it's free....
LOL, 2 points? More like 20 points. Not a fan of all these spoof based flicks with retarded defaming of the original... I particularly hated Scary Movie, still can't understand why anyone would pay $10+ to go and see it.
Lol. If it was 20 points it means I would be below 100 by now, since I've seen it more than once. Scary movie was made in 2000. I was 10 years old... Ya I laughed. Can't blame me... I was a child! Lol Fortunately I've grown
LOL, I was fortunate enough to only have seen it once, but in a cinema (thus the 10x as much retardation potency as on TV ) I was way too old to enjoy the silly spoof even back in 2000, and it didn't help any that they spoofed my favourite genre with bad taste... UGH.
^wayyy too old? you can't be that old if you are still a student now lol @Khaotic the first one was funny dude cause it was the original (kinda).....after that baddddddd, especially 3 and 4, omg i would jump off a building rather than watching that shit again lol.....the other spoofs, date movie and such, luckily i haven't or won't ever see lol.....
I am sure you never heard of or seen this thing called "adult students" -lol2 But I guess I just am not a fan of the comedy genre to begin with (regardless of my age)... Even the names sounded silly to me
Actually I re watched the first one a while back and wanted to go back in time and slap myself. lol As for Date movie... I watched that... Don't ask me why, cause I don't really know myself... In 2000 I was still a complete wuss when it came to horror films so I avoided them. Example of this: I was scared of "I know what you did last summer" Damn I feel so bad for myself right now lol.
adult student hmmmmm....wonder how adult hahahaha, but it's not polite to ask and i'll be polite this time -innocent anyways, not a fan of the comedy genre...didn't you like superbad or knocked up and such? well more like youre not a fan of so-called comedic spoofs right? -lol common you got a sense of humor right, i'm sure hiake got that giggle up in there somewhere -tongue2 lol "i know what you did last summer" hahaha, that created scary movie...i haven't watched it back (scary movie) but i gotta admit the first one wasn't that bad imo....well cause it was like the first spoof i've seen and all. i still enjoy brainless movies every other day...like i just watched heartbreak kid recently, completely brainless comedy, laughed, enjoyed laughing lol...
Some of film reviews (too many of them, CBA to format and write up a detailed review): Fight Club, 4/5 Finally saw it again since it first released in cinemas, David Fincher has a way with the camera, and it's quite the violent film. The best part? The weirdos in this circus like setting. I loved Helena Bonham Carter's character to death, the whole "I am addicted to going to self-help meetings" just cracks me up. Silk, 2/5 Pointless film, I mean SERIOUSLY pointless film. I guess the director meant to show the epic journey to the East back in the days of trades in 19th century. What happened is an awkward story which made little sense, I mean, COME ON, a Japanese warrior, living in RURAL Japan, who speaks PERFECT English? The script seriously need a reality check. Michael Pitt's performance is lackluster at best (ever see him in "Murder by Numbers"? Perennially naked "Dreamers"?), and I felt cheated that they put Keira Knightley with equally billing as Michael Pitt. With her pathetically little screen time, she is but a repeated cameo with a name. And the ending was a huge WTF moment in cinema history, as anti-climatic as it is. Across the Universe, 2.5/5 Beatles' music! How awesome, only, NOT. The visual was brilliant, as can be expected by Julie Taymor, the director who brought us "Frida". Yet the storyline, like "Silk", was utterly lacking and leaves the audience feeling indifference. This is but a film which feature characters whose names were inspired by Beatles' songs (Jule = Jude, Lucy, Prudence) and set in the turbulent 60's (when Beatles moved the world with their music). The only redeeming factor of this film was the beautiful, beautiful voice of Jim Sturgess, who played Jule. Everything else felt like vandalizing of my memories of Beatles.
