I didn't see the ending coming with the whole story line. Really now, was it that predictable? Why.
I enjoyed the highlighted fight scene, even better the fact there were no guns involved and it was a knife scene. I would have preferred it to be a bit more violent though.

now is there even a need to interpret the meaning of this statement?..hahah

Interestingly enough, only sociologists, anthropologists and biologists (of people who study the aforementioned disciplines) share that particular view.

I enjoyed the fight scene for the same reason, it's rare to see non-Asian film with such a hands-on attitude towards the violence, but I thought that it could have been more elaborated and extended ever so slightly.

Violent... I can't exactly imagine how the sequence be more violent except for extending it, giving it more screen time to have a more elaborate sequence... So I guess it doesn't work. But to me, that particular sequence felt rushed.

@xmichelly> You are just so cute, you innocent.

Extended and more blood would have been appreciated.
I did like the way the thin guy got taken out, as for the big guy, more imagination could have been used there.
Bloody well enjoyed the movie non the less.

The film was enjoyable, I can give it that... But I personally thought A history of violence was much more articulated and polished. This one just seems like a copy under a different setting to me (especially with the same Cronenberg x Mortensen collaboration)

Somehow I felt that this kind of fighting sequence was like straight from the Bourne series, only 1000x messier (with some blood and whatnot), the fight was effective and everyone involved are so efficient with their goal of doing harm...

I can't say i see the link to the bourne series.
However, i did like the fact that even though the other parties were killed, viggo still came out injured. Give it that sense of realism to me.

well what is your interpretation then??

No? Really? The way they fight was kind of similar... But it's beyond my words to adequately describe >.< Their movements are so exact (really can't say the same of many so-called action flicks) and each aims at maximally harming the opponents... Add some extra 2 pints of fake blood you move from Bourne to Eastern Promises

Come on, with him at such a "vulnerable"/"compromising" position, it's impossible to come out uninjured...

PS> I just realized/remember that the later Bourne series didn't feature too many fight scene, perhaps that's why the particular link wasn't apparent.
