pfft.. i wish my tv can do 1080p without having to see lots of red dots or something like that... only happens when using hdmi cable for ps3... and other players.. with component video cables.. i can play games on my ps3 at full res.. but watching movies can't.. :(
the format war is already over. BluRay won it when warner bro's studios defected from HD DVD. all the stores have already started clearing their HDDVD players out at prices around 120 bucks a pop, and some places aren't even carrying them anymore.
I just actually read this whole thread and it seems everyone is pretty pro PS3. I guess I'll give you a little more perspective between the two systems... Even though I still think this thread is a complete and utter fail. Xbox 360: The 360 has had an extra year on the PS3 and it shows. With it's extensive game libary it provides a variety of choices for different gamers. Along with it's gaming library it also has THE BEST online community out of all the consoles (Calm down fanboys PS3 Home has yet to develop). Xbox live provides a user friendly online community that adds so much more to the console. With the available Market Place and download able add ons that extend the play value of almost every title. Not to mention the online games are extremely fun. Games like: Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Rainbow Six, Forza, and Team Fortress 2. Along with the online games there are also a number of notable single player titles like: Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Mass Effect. However the Xbox still is not without it's faults. As many know, the stability of the Xbox is not at all great. With over heating problems and three red lights of death. Microsoft does offer a 3 year warranty, but after those 3 years you're on your own. It also doesn't use HD DVD or Blu-ray. Lowering it's potential compared to the PS3. Xbox live does cost a small fee, but not that much. PS3: The PS3 was slow at the beginning of the console wars, but things seem to have picked up. With two price drops and a growing gaming library. Microsoft better watch out. Let's start with the fact that everyone seems to know. The PS3 is more powerful than the 360, that's no secret. Not only internally, but it also uses Blu-Ray discs. Which increases the potential of the console. As for the gaming library.. The PS3 does not have as much games as the 360, but things are getting there. With some already great released titles like: Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank: Future tools of destruction and Unreal Tournament 3. Not to mention some of the up and coming games like: GT5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and the return of other key franchises. The online community for PS3 is not as great as Xbox Live, but it hasn't had that much time to develop either. I'm not sure how user friendly it is compared to Xbox Live, but I'm sure it will only get better. Sony had a rough start losing exclusive titles such as: Devil May Cry 4, Katamari, and GTA4, but things are picking up and the only left to go is up. Ultimately it depends on your gaming prefences. I feel like a broken record player........ <_<

well, there are different versions of hdmi cables.. some are v1.3a v1.3b, v1.3c v1.2 v1.1. v1.0 and so on... i belive that v1.3b is one of the best version out there.. faster speed deliver better quality with hdmi cables..

^^ I looked on firefold.com and found a 6 foot hdmi cable for 7 bucks. Here are the specs: It covers the 1.0 to 1.3 and transfers at a faster speed than the monster cable. Is it that the monster cables are more durable or better quality (both offer lifetime warranty)???
well.. there are different speed still between some 1.3... some have super low speed.. and some have super high speed..
most of the time the regular hdmi cables will do.. it's just like bose speakers.. all in a name n marketing..
lmfao, dont buy monster cables, they are so damned over priced its not even funny. a gadget site did a comparison test between 10 dollar HDMI cables and 80 dollar ones and found there to be almost 0 difference in picture quality
lol who gets that much money in chinese new year to buy both system lmao.. thats like $700... bose speakers do have nice sound though..... its not the name.. the sound is good... but other stuff.. is all about brand.. lolz.. and yea don't buy the monster cable...
