Wednesday January 30, 2008 Hong Kong As the obscene photograph scandal involving many big names in Hong Kong showbiz, such as Edison Chen (陳冠希), Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), Bobo Chan (陳文媛) and now Cecilia Cheung (張栢芝) continues to escalate, the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild (香港演藝人協會) actors' union held an emergency committee meeting today at the Kowloon Tsai Home Owners Association to discuss the matter. Honorary president Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and current president Alan Tam (譚詠麟) were joined at the meeting by vice presidents Eason Chan (陳奕迅) and Richard Cheung (張權) as well as members of the executive committee including Chin Ka Lok (錢嘉樂), Astrid Chan (陳芷菁), Jo Koo (谷祖琳) and Terence Yin (尹子維). After three hours of deliberations, Eric announced that the statement would be issued on behalf of the Guild by Astrid. She read: "The Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild expresses its disappointment at the immoral actions of those who have distributed these pictures relating to the artistes. This is not only sadness for the entertainment industry, but is also sadness for the Hong Kong people. This improper action is acting like a poison for young people and as it is now in the hands of the police, we hope that the government will take steps to stop this bad wind blowing further. The Performing Artistes Guild will continue to monitor further developments." Asked if they will be taking any further action on behalf of the artistes, Alan said that the statement already encompasses what they have to say at the moment. When Alan was quizzed further and asked if they will urge artistes to show greater control over their actions in the future, Eason stepped in and said that there is nothing more to be discussed at this point. He then tried to pull Alan away, but the press continued with their questioning and Alan was pressured to respond further. Asked whether or not they will be urging the public not to look at the photographs, Alan replied that this needs to be done through education by the media and this must not be turned into a social issue. When it was pointed out that some of the press had tried to be responsible by blanking out the offending areas, Alan said that the boundaries were subjective and for topics like this to be splashed across the front pages was not in the best interests of the public. He added that this was not just a warning to artistes, but to the general public that everyone should be more careful with personal effects. As for what further action the guild could take, Alan said that as the matter is in the hands of the police and with the involvement of Interpol, then there is nothing more they can do at present. Also in attendance at the meeting was Gary Chan (陳志光) an executive from Edison's management company East Asia. Asked where Edison is currently, he replied that Edison has gone abroad. credits: batgwa.
oohhhhh...this edison scandal...has he or she (gillian) said they r fake? or are they just not replying to it all?
These criminals should be punished!!! It's a good thing these stars are standing up to them, well done!
waah.. pa.. you guys are slow on this, its 3 days already! and so much has happened.... its the biggest news in HK right now!
Hong Kong Police has arrested a unemployed man over this scandal and has confiscated his computer which had 12 pornographic images of celebrities. Good Riddance
Fake? But have you seen the pics though? -lol In short, a few days ago, someone leaked quite a few photos of Edison in various sex acts with different girls, including Ar Gil, Bobo, and Cheung Pak Chi. There has been much debate and controversy as to whether or not these photos are real or fake. Edison has since returned to the States to visit his girlfriend in Boston for Valentine's Day Holiday. Police have arrested one person in connection with this. The photos first originated from a non-HK internet site. There are 'predictions' that more pictures will come, including some 'short clips'. Hope that makes sense! But there isn't much information on English websites, it seems. I did a search with English, and nothing much came up. To really stay on top, you gotta be on Chinese news sites. -lol
Not official, but rumour was that Edison sent his computer to fix... And that's how the footages/photos are leaked... Questionable work ethics eh?
hm...yes very questionable work ethic. But still, if you're a celebrity, you might as well buy a NEW computer, instead of having an old one fixed. geez.

Ah...now it makes more sense. But it's still questionable, all these pics. Sigh...just give it some time and the whole issue will be dropped...stale news in no time, so no big deal. Of course, they'll have to put in extra extra efforts to make up for the reputational loss, but people forget soon enough.
bobos the only one i THINK can be real... because they really have dated in the past... both admitting it openly.
