I don't think he need to please the Hong Kong crowd any further by embarrassing himself with his broken Cantonese. Plus, I am almost certain that first language/mother tongue gives the speaker the best grip on things.

I don't personally think that the spoken language is of any importance, for all I care, he can speak in Armenian and I will survive on an interpretor. It's what he said and how he delivered the emotion which counted (for me at least).

I wasn't sure of the technicalities, but I assumed that there are different "levels" of copyright and claims of ownership, not unlike patenting... I could totally be wrong you know :p

So true... besides, what does it do to us knowing what they did during their private time?!? I fail to see how this "scandal" can last for so long on the headlines. -sleep

nope it sure isn't, its not like he forced the girls to have their picture taken. the girls themselves by allowing the pictures to be taken should therefore then be in the same position of blame.

i highly doubt it. they have better things to do and also hes made them quite a lot of money through the selling of magazines bcos of the scandal. also, it would be too obvious and he has been laying low for quite a while. also, why would they care about his scandal. it doesn't rele make sense.

I agree with most the comments here, Edison's speech was much better than ah Gil's. I do feel that he is sorry for the destruction that has been caused. Truely there is no one to blame. The people in the photo had a right to do what they want to do. I mean its their life, they choose how to live it. The photo's being uploaded to the internet was a misfortune that no one expected but i guess when you take much photo's you have to be aware of such consequences. I hope this issue settles because it was TRUELY not worth the time the media spent on it. I hope all the celebrities who has the career going downhill from this issue will be able to recover from this and not have the public hate them. Everyone makes mistakes, instead of hating them for what they did, forgiveness should be given. I think they have learned from such a severe consequence. I wish the best of luck to all the girls and Edison in their future. =)

    he knows his mistake man.
Those girls are willing to take those photos with him, so they should have expected that one day they might be expose to the public.
Shouldn't they have aware of this possibility?
It's nobody's fault in this case.
It's fine to take pictures with ur bf/gf blah,
It's fine to have sex w/ them,
It's fine to post those pictures, just do it privately.

Stop blaming @ anyone, just move on.
    LIFE IS LONG
Don't just hold this grudge for the rest of ur life, it's PAINFUL.

    Just MOVE ON...

It doesn't matter how sincere he is delivering his speech at this press conference, the reality of his image to his fans especially those who look up to him will forever be destroyed. I agree that Edison is not at fault because this is his private life; however, he is the very root of this scandal. It was from his computer afterall.

I am surprised how people changed their view so fast .. days ago, people were all disgusted with him and now, everyone is like .. let's move on, he's sorry. This scandal is indeed nothing important; nevertheless, I don't think he should be forgiven for the damages already done especially to those ladies. I can imagine that career or possibly lives may have been destroyed by this scandal. Edison; quite frankly has nothing to lose. Running away after the incidence broke out does not account as being responsible. I am sure he wouldn't have gone back to HK if Lydia Sum didn't passed away.

What's up with all the rumours that the "triads" are going to teach him a lesson or kill him? I guess those too are just rumours.

it's that a Totoro plushie in his jeans pocket? lol so cute :3

Anyways, I think he still have a chance in the US. He's supposed to be starring in The Grudge 2. US people won't give a damn about what has happened in HK in a few years.

He's stepping away from the HK entertainment, doesn't mean he's leaving indefinitely... he'll come back after a few years or something.
I mean, a number of stars have said they were going to retire, but they always end up coming back.
And his speech was way better than Gillian's. Her constantly smiling was really annoying.

I think he did way better than Ah Gil.
And I kinda pity him after hearing his speech. >.<
