personally i've always heard that the ps3 online service is rubbish. though u have to give the ps3 sometime as its free and the ps3 was released a year later than the xbox 360. i reckon when the price of the ps3 lowers and gd games come out for it, not only will it be cheaper to own but then the online system would have prob improved to the standard of the xbox 360s.
online gaming is game specific for the ps3 and its free but it doesn't have as much content as the paid subscription that xbox live has. Though when home is released it should add some very intresting content
incredible slowdowns and glitches the last few months... around XMas week, live just died... but it's come back now... so all is well... cept M$ has a fat lawsuit in Texas and from what I understand... PS3 online depends on the game... COD4 on PS3 is supposedly running just fine...
^ yeah with PS3 its up to the guys who make the specific game to provide the server or something like that, bad thing being when they are done with the game you have to stop playing it online. i would rather Sony charged a fee for those who want a better service with proper dedicated servers for all games. im gong to give it another year or wait till christmas and see how it goes, for now i just want motorstorm 2, GT5, Tekken 6 and MidnightLCub: LA which aint out yet anyway.
^ah about tekken... my friend plays T5: DR online quite a bit... and he doesn't experience much problems... so again... it really does come down to the publishers who generate the servers i suppose...
^ you no what sux, especially with XBOX live.... 90% of the time when i play online im playing against americans and when playing games like DOA its allways got slowdown to the point were its hardly playable, so annoying. The only games that have this issue is fighting games, all other genres are fine. americans are lucky..
That was mainly for the Christmas holiday. There was so much traffic on live during the holiday! I guess you can't expect any service to be perfect, even if you are paying for it. BTW can anyone tell me when PS Home will launch? Just curious.
ther eis supposed to be an open beta for it during april no set date yet for the official release, home does look very interesting though
im trying to convince myself to buy a PS£ but i cant for some reason, the xbox is beating it in all departments and PS3 online is to crap at the moment (but its prolly ok for those who have not experienced M$LIVE). Ill stick to get a flat land BMX and my Nokia N95 Black, ill leave the PS3 till Christmas (actually i got a job coming though so maybe summer holidays)
ye by that time the ps3 will prob go down in price too just to compete with xbox as they have lowered the price of their consoles.
yeah true, even the elite is affordable now!!! PS3 cant redeem itself in that sense because dropping the backwards compatibility was atrocious. there is a good chance ill end up buying a used 60GB, as i NEED to play tekken tag tournament and Marvel VS Capcom 2 (Super Rare )
I played COD4 online before.. that it was pretty fun... and it's free.. so it's all good.. plus they gonna have in game xmb function soon..
