so i haven't watched a dual language movie in quite some time (not since i was using XP)...but i just downloaded a movie with dual language and im not sure how to get only one language to work...

but during my XP days i was able to just shift my speakers towards one side and i would only be able to hear one language and vista doesnt have the same volume control set up as XP...so i dont think theres a way for me to shift the volume of my speakers to either left side or right side...

is there anyway i can watch this movie without having to listen to both languages on vista?

  2. YES you can adjust the balance in your speaker by goig to control panel --> sound and audio devices ---> Under playback select speakers ----> its either properties or config ---> then balance ----> ADJUST.... yes its a long process VISTA SUCKS

ye akkionimusha is correct, there is a setting to change the volume to come from one side.

    Use Windows Media Classic.
They have a setting there where you can adjust the language you want to listen to.

^I agree with above... VLC also has that option should you have that instead...

i did it once for my mom's notebook..really hard too dig in..esp..when its a chinese windows vista ..really a :nono:
i found a >>>visual manual online<<< its actually for something else..but it got the same steps..so it musnt be too hard..

step 1..open the dual language movie first!! then you can hear if your doing the right thing or not
step 2 click on the visual manual..note: replace the text "Samson USB Microphones" with ur recent audio card..it can has names like: Stereo Mix, Sum Balance, Wave Out Mix, Record Master, Stereo Mixer, Wave/MIDI/CC, What U Hear, Mixed Output, etc..Just look what is finked green/checkmarked green aka Set-as-Default and click on the properties and just follow the rest of the steps of the manual..good luck :)

PS..IVE ALSO MADE A VISUAL MANUAL IN THE DOWNLOAD MOVIE SECTION EARLIER, BUT FOR WINDOWS XP..

FOR CONVENIENCE..AND WHEN THE POSTCOUNTS CHANGES..IVE EXPANDED IT HERE ALSO..

Too adjust the sounds from mandarin to cantonese or the other way around..

    Go to your control panel
    [IMG]

And click on sounds and audio devices properties
    [IMG]

    click on advanced button
you should now see a volume control panel from where you can move the balance to ur right or left..

move the balance from only 2 panels [master volume and Wave/Mp3] both to the:
    - left (mandarin)
    - right (cantonese)

ps. or just doubleclick on the speakers in your tray icon to go directly to the volume control panel/play control
