from my point of view about learning japanese is kind like easy cuz most chinese word and jap are the same. well i'm don't even know how to write or read chinese but i recognize some......i tooked a chinese class it's was hella fun i kind like know all the character but i just don't undestand what da hell lit's mean.....it's alot of fun learning japanese. you can actually learn japs by watching anime ( BAKA ) hahahaha
i currently took 8 month of japanese and plan on minoring it, so about 2 more years to go. i got A's for all my jpn classes but the particles are still giving me quite a bit of trouble.
learnin japanese its the best thing i made afta learnin spanish english n russian!! I love japanese language tho isnt that hard to learn i think the more difficult its write kanji when u never use it bfore thats kinda strange looks like to nufin tho -huh yeah i totally agree if u know chinese it'll b easier -detect
It's one of my greatest regrets that I never took up either chinese or japanese when i was younger. i'm ure if i had, i wld have had a lot more job opportunities.
emmmm...........my cousin in hk can speak japanese fluently, i was planning to learn frm her......speaking it is ok but writing is a different story lol
I am going to take 2nd year japanese during the fall term at my university. I have taken the 1st year and learned a lot from the class. I can understand so of the conversations in some anime and dramas now without having subtitles.
wow you can understand conversations already? i took jap at my university for a year already too but i can only make out phrases. im gonna take it again this fall term. so nervous cuz i dink i forgot everything!!! well if u dun use it u lose it.
^ yeh im very impressed too..... as i learnt japanese im my 1st year at uni too but im only able to hear a few words... i can read hirigana but ive pretty much forgotten it now -cry2
hiragana and katakana always confuse me. i have japanese class right now. its to many letter to remember and the way you write it, some letter look the same get you confuse. all i can say is Korean is way easier, i taught myself how to read and write korean like in 1 day! its eays to remember the letter and how to write it. but i should be practicing japanese since i have to pass my japanese class. haha
I've been on again/off again trying to learn it for a few years now. I'm kinda bad at sticking to it. :/ Hiragana/katakana I've got down no problem, and using "Remembering the Kanji" I've learned the writing of close to ~1000 kanji now - I don't know the readings for all of them though :( As far as speaking, I've been using the Pimsleur lessons. They're criticized as teaching too 'polite' japanese, but since I'm in no position to take a class or anything it's the best I can manage.
hm... it's the other way around for me >_>"... lol. i'm usually better at writing in another language than the other skills (speaking especially). I'm taking Elementary Japanese now in college. i'm glad i go to learn a lot within a few months. though i probabl cannot take japanese anymore after this year since it won't fit into my schedule T_T.
