depends...like me, my first love was a neighbour of mine, like 10 years ago? hmm, i knda liked her, then the feelings went. Pretty coincidental that she happens to still go to the same college with me, hehe...wel we're jst normal friends/ classmates...

yep - actualy more like 13 years ago. When she left Primary / Infant school to go to another one nearby, i thought my life was over, lols, bt i told myself that I would see myself thru it n find her in secondary school. But the feelings for her, aren't there anymore tbh. I feel dumb when im near smart girls near her, n feel embarrased to ask her for help i want on ICT, or Maths cos she studies those subjects like me in me college right now, n shes up there as one of the smartest in the school...

If its meant to be then its meant to be There are quite a large number of people who marry their first love especially in asian countries.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but usually 1st loves generally don't last... Before I knew a couple that were 1st love and together since they were freshmen in high school... 10 years later they got married... and that was my thought that 1st love can last but recently their marriage ended... So my opinions going to be bias

The thing is you guys since being with only each other don't have the experience of being with other types of people... If you guys do last great let me know when we're all 80 and old :)

I know two couples who married their first love. My neighbours met when she was 14 and he was 15. Got married when she was 20 and he was 21. They are in their 60s now. Another couple is my pastors in church. Met when she was 19 and got married 2 years after. Both are in the late 50s and very very much in love.

So can first love survive? Yes, it can. Both must be equally dedicated and determine. I however would not advice early/young marriages (not at least until both of you are working - it's a different world then).

Set your heart to love. Be inspired!

Here my song dedication to you.....

And then if you do make it to marriage, here another....

Your words take me in past about 1st love . Thats very good days of my life. But now she leave me because of some misunderstanding. I don't know how but yes its true. But I always have feelings for her . no matter that right now she is with me or not. Anyway about your answer its about both partners. How they understand each other.

  10. who cares abt wot other ppl say... do think ur relationship can last forever?? do u have enough faith in her and ur relationship??

ppl say distance makes the hearts grow fonder... maybe that's y u guys r still strong together... n it's totally different when u have to c that person everyday... enjoy ur currently relationship now... worry abt it when u finish ur studies n decides to move back... ;)

i dont think its down to your number of experiences, but the person you're with..... im still with my first b/f and we've been together for 1 + 1/2 years now and going strong ^______^* but im his 2nd gf, so obviously his "first love" didn't last.. i think you guys are extremely lucky to have found each other and still going strong, esp. as first loves :) how romantic!

It takes certain types of people to deal with the long distance relationships (LDR) as described by you. It's definitely not for everyone. I know from personal experience that a needy person will not work well in a LDR. Not only does it take more effort to make the relationship work but the person not being there physically may become too much.

On the other hand, 5 years is a long time for many couples! I'd be lucky if my relationships lasts over a year. You mentioned that you were together for 5 years. Have you always been studying abroad in all those 5 years or did you just start studying overseas?

Are you happy with her? Is she happy with you? This is something you two should talk about :D

ye i agree with u 5 years is a long time. usually if a relationship lasts that long, then the feelings get a lot deeper and if there are any disputes, u shouldn't give up bcos chances are u usually should be able to solve them having been together for so long. just sometimes theres the 7 year hump.

first love love forever is not true. it is more like the person who you really like would last forever and quite hard to forget them especially you have good memories with each other.

    Tell me about it!

Don't think so, eventually all relationship will end, how, that's the question.
My wife was my first love, we dated for 10 years, before we got married, and after married 2 years and have a baby, we still getting through a divorce, so u tell me about it.

first love, gain a lot of experience about what's in a " commited relation ". Just think of it as work experience lols. However in some cases, first love does prevail.
