i just called osap and i owed liek 300 because i did not inform them i was goin bak to skoool in sept 2007 like WTF!!! i had discussion wiht my financial aid services and they said not to worry about it and they fuk me over because osap scrweed up on my 2nd application...so now out of no where i owe 300 for interest... so bullsh1t...and i thought it is 6 months free of interest after skool is over. The government isn't even helping students in post secondary rather they are waiting to earn out interest.. FUK THIS...my student dept is like 11000 already for 2 year and 2 more years of borrowing..

how much do u guys owe in governembt student loans after u finish skoool? and how much interest u got charged?

hmm, planning to go 2 uni this year and got told - i would only pay bk after finishin me degree and earnin at least £15k ($30k) a year, otherwise I dont hav to pay that bk , lols
Hmm, in terms of interest - i dont think i can be charged because im considerin of openin an account that wont charge me interest on my degree...

From my 5 years at uni i will owe approximately £20K-£25K which makes me indept to the tune of around US$40,000 when I leave uni :D and thats not including interest :D:D

but like ming said here in the UK you dont pay back until you earn over £15K and the interest is in line with inflation and if you dont pay it all back within 25 years it gets cancelled

In Nz we have a loan system as well, similar to the one in UK (i.e you have to earn a certain amount before your obliged to pay) except we dont have any interest which is totally sweeeet.

@Kdotc im not sure if you can just run off with a pocket full of debt lolz and i fyou did you prolly couldnt go back ever again

Not sure if student loans are federal or provincial. But here, you don't need to pay interests the first 6 months, but the interests are still accumulating. Think its 6.5%, but I've already paid it all back. so i don't really care. =P Though, student loan interests give you taxes credits if you ever work.

  15. almost some in the netherlands, if you cannot pay it back in 25 years, the loan get canceled, but you need proof that you really couldnt pay it back, or that you cant pay it back fast enough cause you dont earn that much :naughty:

theoretically yes, you can do that

or you could get a crap job that doesnt pay over £15K for 25 years then when the debt is wiped clean, you get a job earning lots more :D

thing is, u have to fill so many details in ur student loan form that it means they can still get money off u if u work in a different country. also, i much rather have the higher pay and pay a little back for the loan than have a rubbish pay for 25 years. besides if u earn enough, u can then pay back the loan in one fail swoop and then u don't have to worry about it anymore.

  18. ^ i rather not endure the pain hahahahha

luckily i dont have too much loans as compared to some of my friends.... about 25k..... i believe.... and yeah i don't have to start paying until i get out of school... and im hoping to find a company that will pay for grad school XD

  19. hey if you fear the payment dont bloody get in the dept! ask your rents for triad money :shifty:
