Torrents vs Direct Download Links

i like ddl... its more parts.. but i get good speeds... my isp has started shaping p2p stuff so ddl is fast eventhough its in parts and less likely to get caught =P torrents for me for some reason is always slow.. only occasionally will i get a fast one..

 

both, usually torrents depending on how many seeds and peers

 

for huge files that are anywhere between 5 to 8 gb (i.e. games) I prefer to download by torrent and for smaller files I prefer ddl.

 

torrents download are nice but long term opening bittorents software such as bitcomets will lead spamming into pc such as spywares intruders.

 

well i kinda getting the impression that ddl will get more popular than torrents one day
u kinda realise it when there is more hosts for filesharing available now

 

i prefer both but mostly torrent since they are usually 1 full file while ddl is multi parts of a download. its really annoying when you have rapidshare.

 

thats why most things are not uploaded there cos there limit is proper annoying especially with the new cats on the letters to verify that ur a human before u ddl. thats quite hard to see.

 

I prefer ddl because most of the time when i download things using torrents there are no seeds so it takes forever to complete it

 

well depends when u get it rele, at the beginning it tends to be quick and there are a lot of seeds but after sometimes a few weeks it can drop dramatically which is annoying.

 

if i open BT the whole computer gets so slo -.- so i prefer ddl.. however it's a pain in the ass when the interenet cuts, gota start all over again!!!!!

 

Torrents are usually good when what you're loading is new and there's lots of ppl dling it at the same time.. downloads tend to take care of themselves when you torrent.
However, DDL are more secured, but the things is.. you can only load one file at a time..some file share hosts even has a time requirement when you try to load as a free user and not a premium..so you end up having to watch after your downloads..
so I generally prefer Torrents.

 

ye having sed that though, ddl's still tend to be quicker from fast hosting sites than when torrents have a lot of ppl.

 

i'd go for ddl only - if i can hack rapidshare, megaupload n stuff - past their download limits, like ive done 2day...

 

i prefer torrent but if the direct download is from megaupload i wouldnt mind cause i use the happy hour special thing

 

Definitely DDL for me because I can almost always download at my line speed.

 

i have stop using torrent since my isp start to shape the bandwidth of torrent and also u will get warning letters from your isp if ur using torrent

 

how did u get past the rapidshare download limits? i thought they were pretty solid.

i second that comment... i love torrents but its a b!tch when there is no seed
