im taishanese...or something like that. I heard that we are the first chinese to migrate to america. I got a question. how many chinese dialects are there? i think taishanese is only 7% in china or all over the world....
Hi,, guoshyang here.. only speaks cantonese most of the time... not a banana... can speak malays and singlish too..
language haha man i wish i spoke something decent because no one understands what i speak haha.. but i speak chui chow.. wierd language since no one really knows it exist. i wish i could speak canto and mandarin and also read chinese so i wouldnt need subs for those tvb dramas haha. also to listen to good music... half the time i dont even understand what im listening to... but i like jay chou, Wang Leehom, and jacky cheung :jump:
i'm a hakka...but then i don't really speak hakka bcoz i can't speak it right but i understand it XD i speak mostly cantonese and english. i understand mandarin also but when i converse in mandarin, it will be very =S
Hakka is very similar to Cantonese. I speak both Cantonese and English Born in China, move to NYC at 10. I prefer to speak Cantonese Because its easier for me to get the point across!!
I can speak Cantonese....born and raised in Toronto. A point of interest - used to be mostly cantonese spkers in Toronto, now the chinese population here is probably mostly mandarin speakers. Time to breakout the pimsleurs...

I was Born in Kaiping Guangdong, China. I speak Kaipingese (開平話) which is similiar to Taishanese. I also speak mandarin, Cantonese, English, and a little bit of Spanish.
