For those of you who have applied to Best Buy or Futureshop, you probably filled that online questionnaire. I'm seriously aggravated with that method. I found this post at another forum which basically sums up what I want to say. so I just redid the questionnaire, but no go :(
cant you apply anywhere else with available positions? From ur perspective, this sounds quite a complex process, in applying and answer those life-situation questions. Hmm ask them to send you a description of the job and maybe some form of literature about the company, and use that to help you apply and say why ur right for the job. I believe you can get the position, should any come along...
oh this is very similar to the section of the last part of my ukcat test which i had to take to apply for medicine. they use those questions to give u a personality rating and to see how u would be like as a person based on those questions. i did rele well in my one. pity they scrapped that section and it wasn't counted towards my score.
so the question is why work for a place that has such a poor online application system? if the system has caused so much frustration with not just you but many others doesnt that tell you what kind of company they are? good luck.....
^ yea gonna do it for a third time too. @ babs, its because there are no other electronic retail stores as big as bb and fs..
yea thats prob why competition there is tough. thats why they try to reduce the amount of ppl applying by making u answer these questions. best way i believe is to be truthful to urself as much as possible wat answer favours u the most and if they don't like it then its their loss rele.
^maybe you should just lie through your teeth writing down answers that you think they want to hear get through that and into a proper interview, then you can be more truthful, at least you can judge the reaction of the person your being interviewed by
surprisingly not sometimes. i hate it when they give u false hope. they are smiling and nodding only to then reject u after interview. makes u wonder wat u did wrong.
^yeh i know what you mean, ive been to interviews where they even say how well you have done, and then in the end reject you. but at those times, i can only assume that its not that you did bad, but someone was just better than you But at least in an interview, if you wanted to be truthful, it is easier to explain to someone face to face, rather than being truthful on a application form which would probably just get glanced at then scraped
HAHAHAHAHA i used to be like that when i interviewed ppl! all smiley and nice to them just to send a rejection notice as soon as they were out the door!! mind you if i didnt like them the interview would last 10 min instead of 30.
LMFAO i dont think canadian tire is that hard to get into. no offense!!!! i used to hire for sales and assistant managers. different type of company.
i work at best buy and i passed the online test. basically the online questions ur supposed to answer it the way they would want to hear for whats best. there is also this one question i believe that is asked that if u catch a friend stealing a 25 cents pack of gum, would u turn him over. you have to answer yes to that because they want u to. stealing is stealing. i think if u don't answer that qestions to what they want to hear, u will automatically fail the whole thing. once u fail, it shows up on the system as fail and u will not get a call back
lol that's pretty funny! does best buy give any benefits even to their retail sellers for part time/full time?
