If you are strapped for money then go ahead with the Civic...... my choice would be the Lancer...... and by reading your post from above you really don't know much about cars eh? lol I would just stick with the Civic in your case...
*cough* i do like civic more and the looks is pretty okay i guess.. but the engine is the thing i like the most gas saving, enough usage for an average driver -bigsmile inside is big as an 98-02 honda accord... 1.8L producing 140 hp is seriously enough for that car and lighter than the other 2. even if you put 5 people in the civic still goes fast (been in it with 5 people lol ). you got to admit honda civic is good quality built..
Civic shouldnt be on ur list unless your getting the sedan civic type-r, the type-r models is worth the money, most of the others arent.... lancers are over rated imo, but i would chose it over the imprezza anyday =p But i recomend u look around for a 2nd/3rd hand Integra type-R (DC5R) hot car+keeps it value+excellent to drive cant ask more than that =D even better go for the s2k =D...yes i love honda! VTEC PWER or maybe even a corrolla sportivo =O nice car! +sun roofs arent good cause weakens the structure or something apparenlty =S but that should only matters for trackwise =D
Out of the three choices you listed, imo the best would be the civic, the lancer is not too bad, and the impreza is just ugly and people have complained the plastic int he interior feels cheap. your looking into the audio too much la. yes the rockford on the lancer is nice, but u can always go aftermarket audio later on. btw, have u considered the mazda 3?
hmm my friends cousin has a mazda3 and he says the interior is pretty nice, but i dont like its roundness.. how about the altima sedan? ive read a bunch of reviews and it sounds pretty good.. yea i dont really know much about cars... im just picking a bunch of cars in the price range im looking at xD and im not too worried about being the FASTEST car, i just want to have some decent power =)
sunroof shouldnt weaken the structure (maybe the tiniest negligible bit) cause its not taking a chunk out of the chassis, now convertibles are a slightly different story
it does... probably negligible like you said in everyday driving... but completely out of the question on track...-mellow
i dont like teh sedan much, i was considering the V6 coupe instead of my IS, but i decided on lexus cuz its just a better quality car. the sedan is kinda boring imo, but im sure its a good vehicle. I'd definitely give it a test drive though, in white or black it could be an alright cruising vehicle.
2.5s is okay i guess.. but waste a lot more gas then the civic if your looking for gas saver.. i'll recommend going with the civic.
But arent 4 doors better than 2 doors in practical terms? cause my parents live in another province so this fall when i go back im going to have to move everything to a new place..... its impossible to use the rearseats for like moving stuff if u have a coupe isnt it? Also..... getting people in and out of the back of a coupe is hard =P and coupe is almost $1000+ more expensive for 2 less doors! ive never understood why they're more expensive, other than that people are wiling to pay more for 2 doors.... damn i WOULD go for a civic if they werent so common... i slightly prefer the looks of the altima though =P also im hoping it will be somewhat more powerful, i was a bit disappointed in the civic....
don't get the lancer, they are built really cheap... http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/06/you-know-youve-pushed-your-car-too-hard-when/ your better off with a civic if your not into power...because the impreza waste a lot of gas...cuz of the awd system. or get a wrx if you want some decent power
i agree.. none of the cars you pick is a gas saver besides civic.. civic overall performance is pretty good and gas saving also
Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Lancer, Mazda 3. Don't worry too much about audio options. You can always goto your local electronics store and have them install and aftermarket system for you. They're better and cheaper than the factory upgrades. And yes, that's my car in my avatar.
if your looking for practicality definitely go with more doors, cause it will save a lot of hassle for moving stuff and taking passengers!!! the only trade off is it doesnt look as good (which is subjective anyway), its heavier to have more doors and the chassis will be less stiff which is all not really noticeable for an everyday drive
sigh... the Mazda 3 5door is the car for you... it has everything ur asking for... this topic rly should be over... opinions have been given and it's unrealistic to continue to ask for our opinions when you don't know what ur asking for half the time and haven't done enuff research to convince yourself... people asking for power when they can't drive stick is just asking for tranny problems when they "go balls out" and WOT... Mazda 3, 5 door... go test drive...
What I think about the 3 cars are in this order: Lancer GTS (it's more worth to get the GTS than other model because most of the stuff are included in it and it has all the body kit to make it looks nice and the sun and sound package is 2.7k for Leather seats, sunroof, and better audio), Impreza (the hatch looks pretty good from the back even though the front looks like a KIA, but the AWD is pretty good when it snows and especially you are going to eastern canada. However, you get lesser stuff inside your car. such as no sun roof, better speaker and such...), Civic (it's basically out of my list.) someone suggested the new corolla (that one is pretty good if you are looking for Lots of BHP on a small light car)
