^ the MR-2 cant touch the s2k stock or not!!! or any other honda sports cars!
The mr-2 is worst car ever made, most pointless engine set up its even worst than the Celica GT-4 =_="

I'm just listing this because it's in the price range you're looking at and nothing else: VW Jetta

^tis the truth tho!! s2k, type-r or even the type-s can take on the mr-2 anyday,! u might as well get a s15 for that similar pricing!

I've also heard that that generation of MR2 is apparently garbage. You can't compare it to an S2K at all, its just a fancy looking 2 seater roadster but underneath the funky body it doesn't have much going for it.

^im glad someome agrees wit me =]

and is it good to say that vvti, mivec,VarioCam Plus, VVL = vtec or is there minor diffs in them??

vtec, mivec, VVL i believe has seperate cams for high lift and low but vvti uses a hydraulic or some other means to adjust the timing on the belts to adjust the cams

but in general they do the same thing, which is economy at low revs and power in the high revs

u put it on a track with a Type-S, i'm pretty sure it'll come down to the driver... I mean the car weighs just a little over a ton after all... the main problems i see with MR2's have always been a driver issue... epic fish tailing

the Spyder could most definitly take down the Si's as well...

ur right in that it won't touch the S2K or the TypeR's i'm afraid haha :)

an s2000 would blow the mr2 any day...also the s2000 has more capabilites in terms of being tuned up and performing way better than stock...the mr2 didn't sucked pretty bad it was a week attempt by toyota to try and get back into the the "sports car" department

    what happened to the supra?

its probably coming back atleast by 2010. I think the supra will be based on the lexus LF-A platform, but will be tuned down and maybe given a more boy racer look

i dunno if they're gonna bring it back... the IS-F is pretty bomb as it is... and so far... there's no turbo in sight... they just shoved a v8 into the IS-F :heherm:... why bring in a Toyota equiv?

it's just not the same... without a turbo:tear:

im sure the type-s integra can beat it too, since the only diff is the exhaust system or sumthing and no lsd and leather seats instead of recaros, but then again i hate type-s's so it would be a good thing for it to be beaten =D type-r ftw!

AND WHY NOT GET A HONDA FIT/JAZZ!!?!? BEST CAR WIT A K20a engine swap!!!

nah... there is a bit different between the typeR and the typeS... just off the top of my head... the cams are different and i believe the compression ratio is different as well...

imo toyota still fails wen it comes to tuning cars(the altezza and corolla (with the 2ZZ-GE)being the only exceotion), but family cars and etc its prolly the best for its value =]

eh... can't really argue with that... that's just the direction Toyota took and they've done well for themselves...

i thought corollas were only "good for tuning" because tehy were cheap rwd cars...

u forgot the supra eh.. i hear those 2jz-gte engines are really strong...

soarer is good for tuning too.. i dont know why you would include altezza besides teh fact that it looks good and is rwd...

unless u mean tuning as in making cars look nice...
