    Iron Man

Not the best super hero movie I've watched, but still great. I'd say it would be up there with Spider-man and Batman begins.

    Ironman

I was expecting great things from this CGI-invested flick a la Transformers style. Though Robert Downey Jr. alone would have made me go to see it (with or without great CGIs) And here are 3 things I realized while seeing this film:

    1. I am an absolute wh*re when it comes to moving parts, like you know, the twirling machinisms? It was very enjoyable. Now I know when I liked Transformer so much.
    2. The whole "mad scientist" stereotype, talking to himself, his brain moving faster than his hands can match etc, is lovely. Not to mention the really cute "assistant arms"
    3. Robert Downey Jr. is really charming, which is totally the punch line of this film.

So here I am, never read a single comic book, yet falling in love of the slick rendition of shiny armor (and yes, red is a really hawt and suitable colour for your flashy personality, Stark). I loved the fact that Downey Jr. can do serious AND funny, and really, there are a lot of sequences with nothing but Downey Jr. talking to himself or a certain computer console... Which is a test for his charisma as an actor because, if he is any less charming, this flick would have sucked to no end because it'd be so boring and pretentious and silly.

But heck, the CGI was smooth and beautiful, and from Transformers the editing team improved a whole lot in terms of pacing (kudos to script writers too), and best of all? the romance subplot was so infinitesimally slight and totally ignorable that I can concentrate on the really exciting action sequences (and jokes) while zoning out on Gwyneth Paltrow. The downfall of Transformer had been the bad editing near where Bumblebee was captured by the US government and the romance subplot? Totally useless.

All in all, Iron Man was pretty awesome as an action flick, in my opinion better than the Spider Man franchise and I am excited to see it getting greenlit for a sequel! I can't wait to see Downey Jr. reprising his role in The Incredible Hulk (which stars Edward Norton!) later this summer!

    Harold and Kumar 2

So now, Harold and Kumar are onto their next adventure. It was still entertaining, but I secretly suspects that it warrant a special warning (something more serious than R) for the full frontal images... I was scarred for life. Seriously.

NPH was crazy (and the epilogue was awesome because I was a rabid zombie horror fan), and I love/hate the fact that the stereotypic racial slur (towards Asians and Indians) in the first installment was furthered to other cultures and races (Blacks and Jews in particular) It did put a smile on my face by the sheer force of ridiculousness. And heck, that racist tard was annoying (instead of funny) to me.

It was an interesting flick, not as funny as the first one but definitely more of a kidult comedy.

  12. seems to me someone here is extremely infatuated when it comes to red shiny moving parts if you know what i mean :naughty:

lol jsk, anyways, definitely two thumbs up from me.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLYYYYYYY SOMEONE WHO SAYS IRONMAN IS BETTER THAN SPIDERMANNNNN

thank you hiake.... seriously tho, im tired of people going on and on about spiderman is the best spiderman is the greatest... spiderman has been winning reviews on some shows on space channel, and its seriously annoying me..

i guess the only reason why people like spiderman is because its a regular kid, who people can relate to, who turns into a super hero.... people like the idea of a regular person who turns into a super hero...

    i find that boring.

what is cool tho, is a rich business man, more specifically, in the business IRRELEVANT to saving the world (tony stark and arms dealership), turning into a super hero. but i think also the fact that he doesnt have super powers.... just his mind

or batman, bruce wayne fueled by revenge of his parents death, turns into one of the richest people, and becomes a super hero without powers.

or green arrow, olly queen, who masters the art of archery, and becomes a super hero without powers...

what do they have in common? they are rich, they could be selfish and worry about their own asses because of their wealth, but instead take matters into their own hands and become super heroes without any powers.

    i find that badass.

anyways on a side note, i saw warlords with andy lau jet li and takeshi kaneshiro........ all i have to say is that one of the scenes was EXTREMELY dishonorable and cowardly. made me sad. and the second is that that woman is a whore.

EDIT: i am made of so much fail. i wrote green latern instead of green arrow. failure beyond tolerance.

^haha it's really a character driven movie, but there is no action or anything really shocking or funny, all talk so you probably don't enjoy movies like that. But it's just interesting if you look at the plot build up, and also the evil bitch won an oscar for her performance, tilda swinton thats her name. lol and the movie is definitely not about the hit and run at all lols. it's about the "program" how tom wilkinson found out some evil ploy and such and he goes pretty much erratic, and later michael clayton "fixes" things lol. and the boy is really just lonely that's why....bb u missed out alot wor :tongue2: too much. :slap: NEXT TIME GET UP AND WATCH

Of course! What is NOT to love about shiny red moving parts? I would have gone and studied mechanical engineering if someone told me that I would get a job MAKING these things (for real) in that field!

Superbad got weird pacing... It wasn't even as good as the original Harold & Kumar... And I love Michael Cera and Seth Rogen to begin with!

Michael Clayton was an awesome drama, great narration style with lots of confusing details (not to mention Tilda Swinton REALLY deserved her Oscar for that part, so much love for her evil stupidity)

Brokeback Mountain is good and deserved good reviews the same reason English Patient did (about 10 years before Brokeback): long picturesque sequences detailing trivial anthrocentric melodramas.

I LOVED Tilda Swinton AND Tom Wilkinson in Michael Clayton (though yes, it takes A LOT of attention to sit through, lest you would be uber-confused)

I thought Michael Clayton was brilliant with black humour, teeming with some great characterization, it was slick and ragged at the same time (effective killing = slick, stupid agents = ragged). I am almost certain it will be a cult classic in ten years' time.
