I find that the results of the poll shows how asian all of us truly are, look at how many people are in IT and engineering!!! whatever happened to the arts, history and english??

Yes, especially in electrical engineering - power/energy because of the famous Ontario Station over there....

Well prob. cos i've just graduated n didnt do a masters so im only 25. But biomedical engineering sounds alot more interesting and harder than mine! Nottingham is good but thinking of moving back to London.

Erm, its not as hard as you can think of. Maybe because its brand new course, so people think its hard. By the way, I'm doing phd too at here and skipped master like you. Just I'm older coz I have worked for 28 months before.

its always to get work experience though, cos then it makes u much more employable i've heard.

Yep but that work experience will give you an advantage in getting a job after. I'm finding it difficult to get the research positions that i would like to specialise in cos everyone seems to want those with more lab. experience. They dnt seem to understand that if they dnt employ pple like me, i'll never get the experience they want lol!!

Haha, most of my seniors pursuing phd without experience will eventually settle down working as an Assistant Professor in the Uni. I think that's a good profession where you don't have to deal with company politics, more freedom, less working hours (3-4 hours lecture per week and consultation time for less than 10 hours per week), get free slaves (those phd students who under you), travel a lot (conference and speech all supported by Uni) and high pay salary.

lol how do you study to be in the DEA or FBI, i would think you would need to start off within regular law enforcement and then pursue further training to obtain a job with the federal government.

I dont think anyone just joins the DEA out of university, being a drug enforcement cop would be one of the most intense jobs ever.
