Im building a budget PC more or less under 400 dollars, which DOES NOT INCLUDE A GRAPHICS CARD. so it should be 400 + the cost of a card. here are some components i narrowed down to. these are all in CANADIAN currency, and in canadian stores. I need some feedback on these choices: thoughts? which would be the better components of the list? best combo etc if you have any other components with similar specs that are cheaper, by all means, do tell.
parts for the pc seem pretty decent...i personally have had bad experiences with biostar and would get a http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=27346&vpn=M2N-MX SE PLUS&manufacture=ASUS ASUS board instead.
i was gonna say a pc for under $400 is rele cheap and then realised u didn't include the graphics card in there lol.
i need some opinions for cases. kontra suggested TT armor, but i dont have that money lol Ultra eTorque ULT33180 Mid-Tower ATX Case - Silver, Front USB, FireWire and Clear Side -- $73.99 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2337814&CatId=1509 NZXT Apollo Black ATX Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side, Front USB, Firewire and Audio Ports -- $85.99 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2477938&CatId=1509 NZXT ALP-001 Alpha ATX Mid-Tower Case - Clear Side, Front USB, Audio, eSATA Ports -- $73.99 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438627&CatId=1509 NZXT Trinity Classic Mid. sure...if you look at the specs for the cases you posted they work with ATX, Micro ATX, AT and Baby AT so you can shove a micro in the case and be fine. It will give you also lots of room so no hard drives bumping with the video card and stuff like that i like the ultra etorque of all the cases..just wish it came in all black..this is a good buy if you didn't see it http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicati...tails.asp?EdpNo=1786776&body=MAIN#detailspecs comes with power supply also
^ i saw, but its a 450W PSU, and im gonna have to change it anyways. im gonna need a minimum of 550W or more.
You don't NEED to buy extra heatsinks. Stock ones work perfectly fine. You're under a budget build, the money you spend on those heatsinks could go into a better power supply.
unless the cpu he buys don't come with the fan.. or else go with the thermaltake tr2-r1.. its enough but for video.. go with 8800gt or something else instead..
That's never the case if he buys a processor brand new. I've purchased several processors both AMD and Intel. Hell, if he needs a heatsink, I'll send him my old build if he needs one.
Wtf, I bought the Phenom combo at frys for a friends build and it came with a heatsink fan. ROFL. My old setup sucked. It was a Pentium 4. The only thing worth salvaging from it was my CPU Cooler, Case, Power Supply and Sound Card.
may i suggest this video card 8800GT 512mb.. XFX PVT88PYSF4 GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (Quiet and cool ZALMAN fan) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150280 it was suppose $169.99 - $30 rebate but the rebate is expire.. (i bought mine when there is rebate) I think the 8800Gt is better than 9600gt. because Stream Processors is matter. 8800gt Stream Processor = 112 9600gt stream processor = 64.
