Thursday June 19, 2008 Hong Kong As the last singer to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum before renovations, Kelly Chen's "Love Fighters 2008" concert drew to a close last night. In front of an audience of 20,000 near the end of the concert, Kelly announced that she will get married soon to her boyfriend of many years, Alex Lau. During the announcement, Kelly could not hide her joy and started crying. She said that after marriage, she will continue her work in the entertainment industry and will NOT quit the industry. Direct quote from fans, here was Kelly's exact announcement translated: "With this concert, I completed a big mission. I will continue with another big mission. I am getting married!!! (Crowd goes ecstatic for 2 minutes). I finally said it, I wanted to say it for a long time already. If I get married, and the Coliseum is finished with repairs, will you guys come back and watch me? congrats to kelly but marriage always kills careers...hers was already going downhill already....but good to hear she staying in the business and doing what she loves.

his name is Alex... i think he's an accountant or surveyor something like that... they've been dating since before her debute (16 yrs i've read)... i think they broke up for a yr or so when her career was climbing... but decided to get back together... n he's really tall... here's tiny pic of him haha... even tho u can't c how he looks like u can still tell he's pretty tall... congrats kelly!!!!!!! i'll miss u!!! but i still hope u'll live happily ever after :jump: oh i found a better pic... it's the guy drinking
wahhh how unfair. i went on june 13... but the tickets were free, i couldn't choose the date. she only said she doesn't know if there would be another concert...had us puzzled. but i was discussing about this with my aunt this morning,,,it's about time she got married. can't get too old~~~

maybe its love... she dated him at a very young age ...who knows it can be her very first boyfriend and if so they been through a lot together. how come people assume stars need to be with a really good looking partner ...they are human too...and it's marriage ..kelly's marrying a normal guy who probably loves her alot which means their marriage will last!.
Congrats to her, shame in HK when an artist gets married it usually kills their career no matter how good they are. In UK/America etc, getting married usually makes that person more famous. Wonder y they start to lose fans wen they married, sincerely hope its not cos the fans really think they have a chance with the artist lol
