So I was wondering if anyone here are following the Large Hadron Collier project?

Anyone worried about this? I for one am not afraid of any catastrophic incident.

They're colliding particles to understand their inner nature, or something along the lines of that.

they are trying to recreate the moment of the big bang to better understand how the universe works and such

the end of the earth from this is a possibility but highly improbable, so im not too worried

your more likely to be killed driving a car or crossing a street than a black hole from this I bet

  10. This is old stuff, look at places like Area 51 and the Dulce base, they have perfected this technology and gone way way way beyond doing stuff with technology that we would consider magic.

Rule of thumb, anything that is in the public domain is probably no less that 50 years old and possibly much older.

With that in mind this project will:

    A: Not work by design
B: Work, but there will be no problems as its been perfected already

lol and where did you get this information from.... too much x-files...

this is pretty much at the forefront of technology, it took so long cause this thing is fucking enormous, its 27km long, and i think it all has to be hand built. just because something is old, doesnt mean its outdated, it may just mean it works and nothing can superseed it

thats why its called religion. lol where is your common sense.

ontopic: i think ppl can relate to it if its called a particle accelerator. there is a steel/metal door of more than a meter thick that they close if they put it on.
the steel of the door bends more than 15 cm because of the magnetism caused by it.

I saw a documentary about this on the tv months ago.
    All that i remembered is:

    * That the blackholes are created are so small and vanished so quick that it wouldnt be possible that it will swallow the earth.

*A black hole of the size of an appel could swallow the whole earth -shock
