So, I'm going to backpack through South Pacific this autumn and will be away for at least one year. Anyone applied for for working holiday visa in Oz or Nz? Is it easy to find some part time jobs? Any tips of good stops, hostels, highlights etc? Want to surf, dive and do some rock climbing. Thx! =)

Just make sure your Visa and all your passports and stuff are alright, cause they are pretty strict on checking visas here. Surfing-Sydney has got one of the best beach in the world, def. better then Melbourne's-Check out Bondi , and Surfer's Paradise in Queensland. Diving-Great Barrier's Reef? I've only been to NZ once, but the scenery and nature is absolutely magnificent.

Not a country to avoid.. but a place to avoid would definitely be Melbourne.. Too many gang related problems there.. Murders and fights all on the news all the time On a more serous note, Candyshots, be sure to check the Australian Customs site for things that you can't bring into Australia.. cause they are really tough on it-Everyone's baggage gets screeded for organic foods (very strict on this), drugs etc.
lol not likely got so much stuff to attend to until i graduate next summer, which is my next break before i begin working full time
