Gillian Chung new interview published in New book, Says falling in love with Edison Chen was a mistake Since Edison Chen's sex picture scandal incident, Gillian Chung who was the most affected female lead involved had been resting for almost 8 months. Currently she is training hard to make a come back while featuring in a new movie. She accepted an interview for a new book "天使在人間" that was released yesterday. The book published by EEG will reveal her latest interview. She talked about how she dealt with the pressure and her feelings within the last 8 months. She also analysed what she said "Very Silly, Very Naive"" meaning that falling in love with Edison Chen was a mistake. Also to affect her partner Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) made her deeply embarrassed. She also stated that Twins will be unlikely to reunite. But was it the most appropriate time for her to make the statement of what she had experienced and facing the public? Yesterday, many netizens had discussed the matter in internet discussion forums. Yesterday a reporter went to inspect the book stall to see whether Gillian's statement published had made any difference to attract sales. But it seemed the book sales were not increased and average. This was the first interview Gillian had accepted in Hong Kong after guest appearing in a Hollywood movie. In the book interview she mentioned that the most difficult part is answering reporters questions. Like the time when she was returning to Hong Kong from the United States and being asked whether she had seen Edison? She was also constantly asked whether she couldn't get any work in Hong Kong and had to go to the United States instead. She said frankly every question was hard to deal with. Sex Pictures Published to the public, Afraid to the point she went crazy She also mentioned about the time the photos were published to the public, making her so afraid that she went crazy. She wanted to immediately leave this place and her brain seemed like it had exploded. During that period she could only call her mother non stop. She would cry endlessly everyday, it was so difficult that she felt like she was trapped in a closet. But while she was home she kept surfing on the internet to focus on the reports. She wanted to know what was going on but preferred to be unhappy looking at the reports at home. Than finding out what happened while outside. Explains what "Really Silly Really Naive" meant Gillian was the first female lead involved in the scandal to respond to the Paparazzi. She said originally intended to wait for Edison to respond first. But because he didn't step out to respond, she had to take into account her partner Charlene Choi's feelings. That is why she was the first female lead to step out and hold an news conference to respond to the public. She revealed that Mani and herself had taken sedatives prescribed by the doctor before facing the public. But while she was trembling she had to continue. While saying a few words she wanted to cry, but she chose not to because she did actually take those photos. The fact that she didn't personally want to share or publish those photos to the public meant that she didn't need to admit to it. She apologized to her fans, children and parents who were disappointed, leaving her feel very embarrassed. She said because of emotional instability, she said the words "Very Silly, Very Naive" which meant that she fell in love with the wrong person. But everyone misunderstood her intention. She felt that those pictures were very private and between them only. She had never thought of exposing them to others. The photos being exposed was an accident. But she said she never thought of hating anyone, even the man involved because they had a past. There is no need to continue to blame him or make him pay a price. I am Sorry Ah Sa Gillian feels sorry for affecting her Twins partner Charlene (Ah Sa), but to reunite as Twins and perform on stage together would be very unlikely. Earlier in the year she was going to attend a fund raising event but she was afraid the risks of complaints and being upset, also worried her performance will be poor due to it. Only published 5000 copies, Book staff say the sales are good Will the public sympathise with Gillian and accept her again? Could she make an comeback and rejoin the entertainment industry? The reporter inspected her book sales at a book fair booth yesterday. Although there was 10% off, the book sales were still average. No one was queuing to buy it. It couldn't compare with Ah Sa's new book which had hundreds of fans buying it. The reporter asked the staff about it, they claimed that the book only published 5000 copies. Yesterday was the first day of the book release and the sales staff said it was quite good. But when the reporter asked how many copies it sold yesterday, the staff replied that they had not counted so there was no statistic figures. Many netizens encouraged her to Add oil and be brave. They feel she was just not mature enough during that time. People sympathised with her for going through so much difficult times. But there were also people he felt she was a big disappointment and blamed everything on to Edison. They doubt she will be able to make an comeback and if she did what kind of image could she use to perform on stage again? It would be better if she just became someone outside the public eye. Source: Mingpao Translated by: kingkongit27 @ http://******************/forums/ ================= ADDITIONAL ARTICLE ================= Gillian Chung tells of the pain from sex scandal Gillian Chung Yan-tung, of the Canto-pop duo Twins, has shared her feelings over the celebrity sex-photo scandal and her "wrong love" for singer-actor Edison Chen, who took the photos. In a new book called "Angels on Earth", which went on sale yesterday, the singer-actress says she nearly lost her mind when images of her intimate moments with Chen were widely circulated on the internet. "I wanted to leave the city immediately, to get away from everyone, but where could I go? My head exploded, I could only call my mother repeatedly, telling her I needed to rest, and cried day and night." Chung was the first involved party to talk publicly about the incident, but, instead of sympathy, she received scorn and mockery from the public. "When I said I was silly and naive, I didn't refer to the pictures I took; I meant I loved the wrong person," she wrote. Chung had been criticised for seeming more cheerful after the scandal than she did in 2006, when some photos taken of her in a changing room surfaced. In response, she wrote that she had been so shaken that she had to take a sedative before going on stage. "I chose not to cry, because I really had taken these pictures, so I had to admit it ... but they [the stolen shots] were taken [from the computer] against my will; of course I was upset," she wrote. The fallen idol, who has faded from the entertainment scene since the incident, said she had no hatred for Chen - although she wished he had faced the public sooner. She regretted that the scandal had put pressure upon her Twins partner, Charlene Choi Cheuk-yin. "Some people said I should no longer perform because I would affect the good name of Charlene. Others said I should do pornography ... I don't want her to shoulder my burdens." After Chung's last appearance with Choi, the performance's host, TVB (SEHK: 0511), received more than 2,000 complaints. Mani Fok Man-hei, Emperor Entertainment Group's (EEG) artist management division director, said Chung had agreed to be interviewed about a month ago on the photo scandal, after learning proceeds from the resulting book would go to charity. "The book is about how one survives an adverse situation, and [the photo scandal] was certainly the worst for Gillian," Ms Fok said. "Although it has been a while since the incident happened and Gillian has calmed down a lot, when she talks about it there still are tears in her eyes." She said Chung "wasn't given a proper chance to speak for herself, and having this chance to talk about her experience and feelings makes her feel better". The book is available at the Economic Digest booth for HK$54. Publishing manager Gary Fung Ka-wai said 400 copies of the book had been sold between Monday afternoon and yesterday. Proceeds of the book, which also features other EEG stars, will go to the Emperor Foundation, a charitable fund operated by Emperor Group, the parent of EEG. source: SCMP.com Credit: x-WISHFULthinking @ AF forum

lol , wow, her book must suck, i mean they prob lowered the price coz not much was getting sold, and now 54 dollars? ....... lol i mean . macdonalds cost more than the book now , lol , seriously , i think the people are still bitchy bout buying gillian mercenidise
Just an attempt to cash in on the 'scandal', cnt get a job elsewhere (US doesnt count cos i doubt she got much of a role and will prob. be cut out) so has to resort to this. Unfortunately, pple are still gona buy the book cos of how big the scandal had become. Gillian is right on one thing though, she cnt even blame Edison, she is an adult and it was she that agreed to take such pics, whether or not it was intended to be revealed to the public.
WHAT !??! Edison is not the only one AT FAULT. okay so it was his computer but so what? the girls had to give their consent. Don't you guys think that it's a bit immature to blame edison? I feel bad for twins too, but she should be held accountable for her own decisions.
people should just let this incident go and let everyone involved move on with their lives. no one wants to be constantly reminded of their mistakes.
people should let it go... just because they're stars doesn't mean they can't have their own private lives. and i am sure there are tons of people who have filmed their own sex life before
think the responsibility should be from both sides - girls & EDC.... but makes you wonder why he kept all those pics in an unsecure location on a laptop - that could easily have been lost or stolen at any time....how long was he planning to keep the pics, and for what reasons? whatever the reasons it happened - they have all suffered now...
