will roger federer still be number one by end of this year?

i notice he is making more mistake in every match.

is other players is getting better or he is going downhill?

If he can win the U.S Open, some little events, and YEC then he will still retain his #1 at the end of the year.

Roger's domination has come to end. We can't expect him to keep ruling the tennis world. He'll definitely win many more titles but just not winning every tournament like he used too (except clay).

  3. Well, I agree that Federer is making a bunch of mistakes in game, but keep in mind that other players are improving as well.

Like Nadal, he played an intense final at the Wimbledon. Maybe Federer is just as good as before, but other players are improving. Maybe.

Federer doesn't have the momentum anymore... it's not that he isn't dominant... just look at him at the Wimbeldon tournament... he didn't drop a single set until Nadal... and Nadal has always been a pain in the side for Federer since he came onto the scene...

he's good. just that Nadal is trained to take advantage of Federer's poor backstroke hence the loss all the time.

Nadal is coming up. Look at him running how can you match his speed. Federer is still good just that Nadal looks unstoppable

  9. Federer has reached his prime and should start to decline ever so slowly through the years but he is still going to be one great tactical player

Nadal isn't unstoppable... if Andy Roddick ever develops true consistency, he'd kill Nadal...

Roddick?? Dude only has a serve and nothing else to his game. His backhand is one of the worst I have seen. It is two-handed, yet he hits it with no power. It did look promising a few years ago when Brad Gilbert started to coach him but he could never beat Federer. Even when he played his A+ game, rocketing serves at over 140mph, he still could not beat him. Just not consistent enough.

like i said, if he ever truly developed consistency... he would walk on Nadal... yes his backhand's not pretty but he has a strong forehand shot and that's all he really needs with his serve being so fast...

Beating Federer is another story, I never said Roddick could, nor would he... Nadal is the only person who can beat Federer semi-consistently, but that's only cuz Nadal plays a game that pretty much frustrates the hell out of him... he's quick so he can get to all of Federer's well placed shots... Djokavic pretty much proved that Nadal can't handle well played serves last week...

I think Roger Federer is done...he's going downhill from here. He needs to retire. He just lost to Blake at the Olympics.

federer has been losing but he is still federer with tens of grand slam on his belt and years of consecutive No.1 with him....it surely is an incredible feet

i wouldn't say so... Blake played a better game... that's just all there was to it... and Blake's not exactly a push over... he's still 8th in the world...

it seems like he's gotten a lot more sloppy. maybe he's just having a temporary slump, but it definitely seems like he's gonna lose his # 1 ranking soon

I think Roger Federer is making mistakes and plus the other tennis players are just getting better
