not really a rant, but just wondering i thought we're not supposed to be digging up old threads? or we'll get banned or sth... so why are ppl still doing it? i read a thread, post sth and realised the thread started in like 2007 or something lol
One can post in an old thread, if the reply is relevant. They key here, a "series" of old threads. If we see a pattern and it looks like the user is spamming, ban. Knoc
yeah i mean ppl are digging it up but eh... as long its not a stupid answer and their not consistently doing it it should be fine
Are we allowed to post in a series of threads, but where something constructive is added that may have been omitted, or something where we feel that there is something that can be said to enhance the convo?
Ok one more question then, how would you define old threads? Atm I'm restirciting myself to within the last 2 days, apart from the odd occasion where i see a title of a thread that i just cant resit to add something to in (Within the last week max) Is that alrite or not then? lol
You can go past a week or even a month, however, keep this in mind when doing so: replies must be relevant and not one word. Use your own discretion and don't just throw in one word replies. If we see a pattern and you are just spamming to increase post count, then you will get banned. However, if there are a few threads you genuinely want to reply too that are even a few months old, go for it. The key here is relevant replies. Knoc
like if there is a topic you really wish to discuss and you do a search on the forum for the topic and its and old thread you are welcome to reply to the thread just don't do it so often...
i was wondering what you would consider an old thread... now i know ^.^ i thought anything past a week was considered an old thread >.<
aiiiii.....amy digged up an old thread @ OP...people dig up to either spam to increase their post count or they just wana post something constructive an relevant to the topic....
Personally, I think that any thread older than a year should be locked. If someone reads something of interest and wants to reference that thread then a link could be provided with a new message on the same topic. While imperfect, it would at least give people a guideline of where the cut offs should be. Ralph
What really annoys me is when some idiot bumps a thread that's years old to say some stupid shit like "lol" or "this movie came out years ago". NO FUCKING SHIT JACKASS. Here's a fire go DIE in it.
