depends on the country you're living in. Different provinces /states require different safety features.

And those things are beasts. Even with simple upgrades, they will pull close to 350hp. And they break if you don't baby those RB-series engine.

  5. skylines haven't been legal in my area for a longgg time.....

in the US, Skylines are only legal if u know the right people who'll help u with the safety regulation mods... and in Canada, there's the 15yr rule...

there is a company in the US that brought skylines into and modified them to be street legal. Paul walker has a skyline and i'm sure a few other racer car enthusiast also have one...its just you want to shell out 88K USD for a used R34 GTR-Vspec II...

    http://www.skylinegtr.com/

for that amount i'd rather put it towards a new car...

^Motorex is out of business... they were found to be fraudulent and based their mods on only the R33 i believe... and they based all their safety info on that and made false registrations...

There is a company in the US. started 2 years ago. fully legit R34 because they can to the states in pieces and reassembled in the US with compliance with the DOT standards and it is registered as a kit car.

comes at one hell of a price tag.

hahaha yes... this can be done... ROFL... i can't believe someone's actually doing this though LOL... this will be under the laws known as a "Kit car"...

think of it as a full sized "model car" type deal... only it runs LOL

the conversion is simply to retrofit the headlights, install side markers, and making sure the exhaust system isn't those 3.5in fire breathing straight pipe.

The R34 already has DOT-approved headlights, windshield, and some small details needed to be adjusted like reinforcing the bumper to avoid contact with the FMIC.

I thought you can import any car into Canada? You just can't register it or safety it. You can only use it as a track car though.

There are always ways around stuff like this, it just takes alot of money and alot of under the table things.:whistling:
