I'm sure all of us have experienced the infamous "HTTP 503 Download Limit Exceeded" error message from certain sites, most notably Megaupload.com. This kinda sucked because I used to leave a bunch of Megaupload download links on my IDM queue to download the whole night, only to find out that only the first file was downloaded. The only way to get past this error is to purchase a premium account ,or so it seems. I found out that by disabling and renabling my local area connection, I manage to reset my ip address. So, with this in mind, I started searching for a solution to automate the whole process instead of waking up in the middle of the night just to manually reset my ip address. Just last night, I managed to finish some batch files to accomplish just this and I thought I would like to share it with you guys. Steps: 1. Download (IDM) http://www.mediafire.com/?9nmm32gl3m0 if you haven't, (any download manager should do with the option of "Virus Scanning Upon Completion Of Download" should do) and (Download.rar)http://www.mediafire.com/?9gj2bd9e11y 2. Unzip the files to C:\ 3. Open up IDM, go to the Options>Downloads>Virus Checking Program and select the run.exe from the unzipped folder earlier. 4. Then go to the "Dial Up" tab in "Options" and select the "Time between redial attempts" to 10 seconds. 5. Now, download any Megaupload link and place them in your download queue without downloading them first. Upon having all the links in your queue, start the queue and it should download the first file with your current ip address and then change ip addresses before downloading the next file. 6. The files will be saved to your Temporary Directory. Lastly, I would like to thank the guy who wrote the script for this automated process of renabling the local area connection. I merely just tweaked his script to work for this particular purpose. This method worked for me and I hope that it would for you guys too. If any problems arise, please post here, and I will try to help you. Please also post other sites that work with this method. It seems that any download sites with keep their download links alive for a certain time regardless of ip address should work with this method. Sites like Sharedzilla which assign a specific download link based on your ip address should not work with this method.
dont really believe much on this websites. If u get download limit message, just reset ur modem for new ip.
Well the choice is yours. As i said above, I'm just trying to share what I have with you guys. instead of manually resetting ur modem 4 new ip, why not automate the whole process? Surely if you want to download say 5 or 6 megaupload links, you would not purposely wake up in the middle of the night just to reset the modem now, wouldn't you? What I've done above is created a batch file that will automate the process, and compiled them into exe files. By utilizing the "Virus Scanning Option" in the download manager, I can reset my ip automatically upon each succesful download. If you are sceptical about the contents of the batch file, I will post the commands here if you would like.
I'm not sure. The criteria for this to work is that the host site must keep its download link alive for any ip connection. If rapidshare assigns u a download link that can be downloaded by other ip addresses, then it would work. For the second part of your question, the earlier links were down, so I reupped them to a more reliable host eg. mediafire. I hope you can provide some feedback. THanks.
I followed your instruction but stuck at #4 4. Then go to the "Dial Up" tab in "Options" and select the "Time between redial attempts" to 10 seconds. I can't select the "Time between redial attempts from 30 sec. to 10 sec. but i'm sure it's not a big problem. the thing is, either way it doesn't work. Can't download using IDM.
.... this only works if ur running on a dynamic IP service... most if not all commercial lines are static... many homes/residential lines do run dynamic IP, however, sometimes u have some stupid people that believe a static ip address is necessary... so again this will not work for everyone...
U mean u cant download ANYTHING using IDM? Is "Use windows dial up networking" checked?, in the "general" tab check "use advanced browser integration".
yup i checked the "Use windows dial up networking" but can't select anything/nothing shown on the "Connection" I also checked the "Use Advanced Browser Integration" from the "General" tab. Still doesn't work. I can download using IDM just not Megaupload links.
What do you get? a small 30 plus kb file? Can you elaborate? U can use other download managers like FlashGet. Just remember to select the time for redail upon line dropped to 10 sec and command the download manager to run run.exe as a virus scanning program.
yes i get a small 30+ kb file. I also tried using FlashGet same thing happened. The problem is I can't get both FlashGet and IDM set to 10 sec redial/retry. Btw does this only work for Dial-Up? What the different between setting it to 30 sec. in compare to 10 sec.? here are some images to my problem http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=idmnm4.png http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=flashgetja8.png http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=flashget2vz8.png
Well, if u know how to create a .bat script. it will be simple. but i'm not good at it. I believe the IDM above included this script Code: ipconfig /flushdns
Will this mess up my internet connection if it do not work... just want to make sure before I test it.
