I've just got the demo and it's a big improvement on the previous release. It runs a lot smoother and the controls feel a lot more responsive, above all the whole game is a lot faster which is what I thought the previous games fell on (Pes 5 was the best release before this).

One thing I haven't got used to yet is the manual player switching is literally manual player switching. If you pass the ball and don't switch player after then you'll keep controlling the same player. I think it could work pretty well once you get used to it. They've also changed the way you do tricks.

You get 6 teams, Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, France and Italy with rosters from last season. A full exhibition match for 5 minutes is allowed.

Anyone else prefer Pro Evo to Fifa? I've tried the Fifa game aswell but I didn't like how the game felt a bit sluggish, especially compared to PES2009 feels.

    Discuss!

the only problem i've had with Fifa was i couldn't control a player the same way i could in ProEvo... ProEvo has been the same game since the last like 5yrs... stats aren't realistic and the game was so incredibly reliant on dribbling skill... so if Konami has finally fixed these issues... i might pick it up this year =/

  3. ^ Evo is all about the dribbling >.<

^ Isn't it about the goal scoring?

I've always been with Fifa, but I think they're kinda turning into the same...

yes, but Fifa and Evo both have different ways to go about scoring...

    Fifa is more teamplay, Evo is almost complete dribbling... Fifa doesn't emphasize on the big names as much as Evo does... for example, Ronaldo in Fifa is a good player, but he's not a god... on Evo, Ronaldo is practically a god, he will outrun and dribble his way across the entire pitch by himself if u know how the tricks work... then he can punt the ball from 35yards out and he'll get it top corner... Ronaldo is good, but he's not Maradona -.-;

i prefer Winning Eleven version ( Jpn ver of PES). all the names and teams are correct and hv smoother game play compare PES (even they r from KONAMI)

i was used to play fifa until one yr, their game play really no good. i think 2004.
    that time im quit fifa.

  11. its fine for me cus i dont like football but im good at the games so the names dont mean anything to me, i can only recognise maybe 10 players.

"The new FIFA 09:Sharp, lively, fluid graphics. The new PES? Shabby player models, backgrounds that haven't improved since PES 2007 and awful, robotic animation"

plus more, but these comments where the ones that stand out.

So from the looks of it, they are saying PES aint as good as FIFA 09.

    What do you guys think?

  13. fifa DOES have bad points, they are not mentioned though, the person is very adept at naming all of the evo drawbacks which tells me this person shoudlnt be qualified to give credible reviews.

you get fanboys and haters everywhere!!! i have heard people say fifa is just like the last one with extra tricks in it...

my opinion, play the demos for yourself and buy the one you like or both..

in this day and age were we can download almost anything i don't see why decisions on games should be based on another persons say so.

Review from various online sites like Fifa 09 more than PES 09. It's unfortunate...PES has always been my favorite
