PSP help

    recently, i borrowed my friends PSP to play and put games on for him. I used to be a PSP owner but not anymore (lol) so hence, forgot all the stuff associated with downloading, emulating, firmware etc.. it's all very vague lol.. so the situation so far:
    i've downloaded a game and used devhook 0.46 to play it...but then this came up "The system software of your PSP system is version 2.71. To start, you must update to version 4.01 or later. Do you want to update now?"

    -obviously, no i wouldnt update otherwise that'll ruin my 1.5 hehe-innocent2
    so im just wondering, what software do i need to be able to play that 4.01version required game?

    You have to upgrade your firmwware to 4.01, but I think there is a CFW available to download, go to psp-hacks.com for more discrete details

    i haven't checked in a long time... but ur going to have to find the latest CFW like wei said... i dunno what version it's up to though, so u might be out of luck if it's a brand new game...

    but if i do these updates.. will i still have the 1.5 version to play iso games?
    edit: one part of the link to install 3.52 doesnt work.. like not the actual link but one of the 1.50 update download files is missing :('
    edit again: nvm..i think it was jsut my chrome lol

    You can install "1.5 kernel add-on" for 1.5 firmware on 4.01 m33 CFW, u should check the comments, it seems this add-on works for phat PSP only.

    u need the 4.01 m33 cfw. to play games etc. and then get the 1.5 addon so that u can play homebrews etc.
    to use the 1.5 addon remember to put into the game150 folder. or u'll need to restart the psp and change the kernel thing everytime :p
