The Result In 2005: Last week I purchased a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The young woman at the counter took my $2. I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help. While he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried.
i reckon this messes up a lot of ppl.... when i wanna get rid of my change or when i dont wanna receive back any change i try to do this sort of thing too... n a lot of times they get confused n i will have to explain them why i give them the extra change other times when i cant stand it i just tell the person behind the counter to type in the amount im giving them to see for themselves
lol well as someone whose job involves working a till, id have to say i get confused by this shit too.. usually the first 3 hours or so of work and im pretty mentally sound and can work out the cash no problem.. but by the end of the day, if someone gave me like 25.52 for a transaction that cost 25.27, it would definitely take me a little bit of time to work out in my head that they would get 25 cents back hahaha
kid these days just know how to use calculators and shit like that but it use to be everything is done in the head.
it's always funny when these people just stare and have no idea what to do. but it's sometimes sad too
yeah it does, but if you get too impatient you might end up clicking past the screen where it indicates change back then your stuck doing it mentally. when im working cash im going like 200 miles an hour lol
lol... bell makes shit simpler by actually asking us to input the exact amount, and till computes exact change... sometimes i wish it didn't have to do that so i can actually have my brain practicing quick calculations..... yes... i'm a nerd...
at start when i started working, i also had problems with this, but after awhile when i got used to it, i started calculating really easily. but on the otherside... im good with math xD so maybe that has something to do with it -lol
nope... i do blazing fast math in my head.....especially with change.... its not that tough but then it is BK....
I work in cashier and I never had problems.. idk, in the University I go to... You aint allow to use calculator for math, and all the math equation are done through writing it down on piece of paper, and you would do all the addition and subtraction in your head. Pretty use to that now... -_-
loool....thats what i do as well...when i wana get rid of my pennies and loose change xD an some pple do that to me as well when i work..but i dont get confused....=]
^ and may need to learn more about world history  but yeah..... whenever i see a cashier person struggle, i just do the math for him/her.......
^ You have to be honest, history is the most boring shit you can possibly learn in school (Sorry, if anyone is majoring in History)
^ depends on how it is taught.... if the teacher makes it interesting then its much easier to learn but most teachers make it quite boring...
i found my jap history 300 level class to be the most interesting class iv taken in university... you cant just stereotype an entire subject as boring, if its taught by an enthusiastic prof and its an area you enjoy then there is no reason why you wouldnt enjoy it.
fuck i'm feeling the total opposite with my math course.... boring teacher who whispers, material that i absolutely hate.... i need to do something about it but don't know what... desperation is setting in...
