^ There won't be a good game.. Not unless Sony can guarantee that this PSP won't be hacked.. Otherwise, the game developers for the PSP can't be bothered making a game for a console which can easily be ripped, uploaded and downloaded for free.

  3. ^ ahhhh makes sense now, i didnt know that. no psp for me then.

    But what about DS?
I can give you a site that has every single game the moment a DS game is put into the market.
Yet, they still have lots od developer.

  5. ^ i was thinking that but i think maybe the PSP just takes the biscuit, for hand helds at least i would say cartridges are better but not perfect. pirate games were rare (i had never seen one) in the days of the SNES and Mega drive.

lol, its pretty much DS raping PSP now lol, PSp better come up with "better upgrades , if it wants to beat DS and the upcoming DSI

I wouldn't think that a lot of people know about downloading games for a DS.. and it hadn't been hacked until quite recently.

Where as the PSP.. it was hacked like a week after its release (like 4 years ago), and most models since them have been able to be hacked.. All you need is a memory stick, and know how to follow instructions and you pretty much DL games and play them for free. Just my opinion.

  8. lets be honest, Sony is losing, maybe there wont be a PS4

why spent another few hundred dollars to get another psp? I'd rather stay with my trusty lil old fellow and save the money to get another console -.-

Agree, It's most likely going to require a hard-mod.. Like I've said in this thread, IMO Sony and game developers have lost enough money already.

BTW, who needs the PSP 3000 when there's this: http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/5-00-custom-firmware-m33-released-167420.html

Dark Alex has been at it again :D.

nah i reckon they need to improve like the NDS they still havent made the XMB touchscreen sigh they said they might at the games carnival thingy but yeh they need major update not sum tiny screen improvements and the camera at the back idea will cause too much problems

i think sony made thouse new psp not only because of the new features, i think the main reason is, that they want to make the psp not hackable...

i have the psp-2004 and it became more difficult if u want to hack other psp with the newer one, because u cannt just "create" the pandora like the psp fat (the old one) since they have a different mainboard, and i read that sony has build the the mainboard "TA-088 V3" on all new psp3000 and its not hackable,... at the moment x)
    but psp3000 still sux x)

  18. does this version of the psp have no games too?

according to a review i read the same problems persist wth this model and the better screen stuff is an exaggeration, but if i was gona get one then the 3000 would obviously be the way to go unless your into your copies

MaxConsole can exclusively reveal that the brand new PSP 3000 model is now perfectly hackable thanks to Datel's newest tool battery that will put the PSP 3000 into service mode. Once you're in service mode, you can downgrade your PSP and pretty much do what you want with it! The new crypto processor based battery is called the LITE BLUE TOOL battery and will enable the service mode on both PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 models. It will come with the option to toggle between a service mode and normal mode, and also features a built in LED power gauge. Look out for the LITE BLUE TOOL when it goes on sale from November 28th priced at $19.99 in the UK market and $29.99 across North America.

We've also been given exclusive information on how exactly Datel came to their working PSP 3000 solution:

Datel's Raw Science engineering division have been hard at work to unllock the protected service mode since the PSP 3000 come out in Japan last month.

“Although there were early indications that the PSP3000 had embedded Service Mode capability, it was clear that silicon level investigation would be required to understand the new mechanism” said Datel.

“Once the target IC had been identified, our engineers then de-capsulated the device and prepared it for hi-resolution SEM imaging” he added, explaining the high-tech methods employed in this project.

The engineers then used circuit extraction to reveal the additional service mode only encryption functions which were not present on earlier generation PSPs. In order to be compatible with these encryption functions, Datel created an advanced IC controller which will be put straight into use in their newest service mode battery technology.
