take crp & first aid class and you'll know more ... knock on wood but if you're ever in that kind of situation or see someone in that situation, at least you can help yourself and others .. i know ppl carry a first aid kit in their car or have it at home but what's the point if they don't know how to use it properly in emergency situation.
