I'm studying under sociology of behavior science at San Francisco State University. I'm still an undergraduate but probably take me 2 more years to graduate to get my BA. I need to acquire my MA in order to become a counselor. long way to go....

Just graduated in BEng Architectural Engineering from Cardiff Uni, UK..jobhunting now.. =D so many engineers here but where are all the civils/archis/structurals?!!??!?!
so few peoples in the health industry out there, no wonder hospitals are always short staffed Physiotherapy, University of Sydney
it's not that theres not enuff ppl in health here in syd its just that... funding is an issue, and obviously ppl want high $$, and if they're not getting wat they want... they just go work somewhere else... which is y it appears theres a lack of staff... there's always staff... its more like a lack of quality... =/ plus 99% of the grads who come out all want to open their own store to make $$, and none want to work in hospital... so even with a zillion more new grads... its always gonna b short staffed
Im moving to my senior studies... hopefully do a Science law like chemistry/pharmacology or if i can get the 99, LAW
why would you want to work in a high-stress hospital when you could do quite well in a normal surgery or medical centre? I mean, the state's health care system is atrocious; You've got young doctors working 24 + hour shifts. And with a large majority of Asians dominating the medicine faculties, most of them probably would not want to work in high-stress hospitals. Also, I think part of the shortage has to do with the increasing number of females getting places for medicine, and a lot of them take time off for maternal leave. I dunno if people choose a career of medicine just for money; Surely part of them would do so because they like helping people? Anyways, on topic, I'm looking at a career at Medicine, Law or Teaching. All depends on the UAI I get.. I guess. Or I could look at Uni's outside Sydney.
Degree in Science (Biotechnology) Technical Officer in a Microbiology Lab ('Technical Officer' is just a nicer name for Lab Assistant). Monash University Spoiler ... Don't ever take this course if you plan to or even have any slight intention... Its future is rather bleak.... blur.... sad.... And hard to find a decently paid job (unless if you pursue further studies). :(
Yeh i guess that's true since pay is kind of a joke when u compare to private practice.... hospital max pay for physio ~110k before tax +5% super.... private practice ~150k easily before tax if it's successful. though physiotherapy is anything but stressful actually... so if u want a social life in the medical field go physiotherapy.. .if u have no social life to begin with.. well medicine is probably better for you. Did u do your HSC this year?... best of luck with things!:teeth_smile:
