try to return it to the owner, if you have no details then give it in to the police, its up to you if you want to hope for the best that the person doesn't bother reporting it missing because of his lack of trust in humanity, youll end up with a legit laptop if it doesn't get claimed.
very true .. but generally ppl never do what they say they will do when the real situation occur. for me, i know i will simply cuz i have a habit or more of a disease about not using anything USED .. lol
^ lol....... which means... why should answer the Q then right? Anyway, I said I know i would... ive already found 2 cellphones which i couldve kept cuz nobody saw me picking up the phone n yeah tbh i dooo really need a phone... but i dunno id feel very guilty abt it or something.... i actually found one of em last week! i was thinking to myself... hmmm maybe i should keep it the 3rd time cuz its a sign from god! haha...
haha. in quebec (canada) civil law, if you find something you have to try to return it to the rightful owner if you can. ie. if any info is in the computer, purse etc. Besides that, you have to post/adverstise somewhere that you try to find the rightful owner. If no one comes and PROVE (identify) to you that they are the rightful owner, then it becomes yours Of course, I would keep the ads/links of the website I returned a cell phone recently as well....haha, I called the owner's father, mother, friends on the phone, hahaha/ So the kid probably got sh(*(* I also found 60bucks that I kept because there is no prove who owns the money. I aint gonna to give it to the donut eating cops
^ no but seriously .. when the real situation occurs ... i think ppl especially younger one would be tempted to keep the items than returning them to the rightful owner. they know it's wrong but they do it anyway .. just like cheating on an exam .. everyone know it's wrong, but ppl still do it .. as long as you don't get caught, it's cool ... lolll .. in fact, this applies regardless of your age ... lol
na. I dont believe. it is like the ipod crime that is happening in toronto. people get robbed for ipods.
the last time i checked, conscience don't pay your bills and stuffs ... lol i have heard stories about ppl who actually returned the lost items to the rightful owner being accused of stealing the stuffs or breaking then returning or simply not appreciative of the return ...
@adrianc, i dont think anyone would return some notes... i mean if its like up to a reasonable amount... it would be odd if u want like 10k in a bag but if i find a 50 note on the streets n no ones ard who m i gonna return it to -devil
a lot of times when a wallet is dropped its very unlikely the cash will still be in it... they may return the wallet but the cash is gone.... going along what angie has said, if i found a bill on the streets and pick it up.... i wouldn't think twice about keeping it.... but if it was in a wallet with identification.... i would be hesitant but i think i would try to return it with everything the way i found it.... i have done so in the past because i know how frustrating it is to have completely lost a wallet.... the reason why younger people tend to keep things they find is because they have not learned the value and hardship of earning a living..... they just have a vague concept of money and belongings...
I found the 60bucks in a store, and the owner saw me and wanted it. the first thing that came in my mind was he wanted the money, cus there is no prove, so i said I will wait 10 minutes until he comes back for it, which he never did. what you think I shoulda done? give the money to the store owner so he can keep it?
