And no the Adobe version only works if you're viewing flash video on a web page; I'm hoping to find a standalone one (without having to do all the format conversion). BTW, I'm still using Windows 2003 SE with my old piece of shit Ipaq HP 6515a. :rl: But what the heck, it still works...
VLC is great for the Desktop PC; and I already have it installed. I need to install an FLV player into my Pocket PC telephone - PDA. I've already been converting the FLV into either MPG or AVI and they play fine; just that the whole conversion is starting to become a pain in the ass. So, at any rate, I've been looking high and low for a player that I can install into my phone, that will then play standalone (not in the web page) youtube type (Adobe flash) files on the fly. Adobe's web page already stated the its new player 7 will only play these file on the PPC if they're encountered as part of a web page only. Yes folks, Old Ralph really did buy this piece of shit, and he still uses it too... At the Videolan site above, I didn't see Windows 2003, or for that matter, any handheld support; like Palm, Blackberry, Windows Mobile version 5 or 6. Did I miss something?
Ah, in that case you didn't miss anything (even though it's for Windows 2000 or later). I just focused on the Windows 2003 bit. There was a PPC edition, but it was canceled: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-wince.html A bit of Google turned up the following though: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpmpflvplugin/ Apparently a plugin for TCPMP (some other media player). Hope that helps.
Canceled? Story of my life, I show up wearing a tux just when the janitors sweeping out the trash... LOL... But thanks, I've give the source forge a look. Addendum: Go figure, I downloaded the TCPMP plug and I get a "...not a windows CE install file..." error, LOL...
Oh well, at least you weren't lying about the story of your life ... LOL. Hopefully someone else has some other ideas for you.
