    56 pages!!!!!!!!!!! finally.

Anyone seen Top Gear season 12? Awesome season up to now.
I also suggest James May's Big Ideas. It's really nice to. Brings some changes to our dear captain Slow.
Also, Clarkson's new DVD, Thriller, is really nice. But it's like an Top Gear episode but one hour and 20 mins of ear sex.

copped these pics off the readers rides at hypebeast, got some rich motherfuckas over there

    a HB mod's enzo:

all these volks on reader rides makes me wonder though... should i spend the extra and just buy 17" volks?

or spend a bit less and get like.. no name 18" R1 racing rims

The thing about that is that it will cost me nearly 3 grand for the rims then another thousand for the tires.

the reason i want 17"s is that i have my stock bridgestone potenzas with less than 2 weeks of use lol

    right now its between this

17" Advan RZ's for 1700 bucks with my bridgestones

or 18" R1 Drift with some falken tires lol for like 1500

these R1's dont look too bad

i think my main struggle is whether or not to pay more to buy brand name lol... im a pretty brand conscious dude

heyy Nextmod!! I have friends thats part of next mod in toronto, but i'm not...:tear:, but I don't drive a white car. lol

Volks are to over rated. Honestly, I wouldn't pay $3000 for a new set of TE-37's in 18's. Alot of peole have Volks, volks seem to = baller if your running them. lol.

The largest I'm running is 17's. Any bigger and it kinda slows you down on the track. You can always invest in a set of TE-37 Track Lites or whatever their called. Their pretty light for what they are.

That's what everyone says until you own a set of those ridiculously light rims.
I went over a friend of a friend's house to help him install his new TE's. I drove the G35 just before installing the TE's and after. It must be psychological but there was a difference.

TE-37 are nice. Especially in the 17in. Not too big and you still have enough meat to absorb the cracks of the shitty canadian road system. I suggest to get some used one and send them to a wheel repair shop to acid strip it, and repowercoat them. this process costs ~400$ / set of 4.

And please. staggered + flush fit + stretch those Bridgestone. Please.

Or get some BBS LM's. Mesh wheels on an IS.

I agree, canadian roads suck. Nothings better then a set of really light rims. But I'm not willing to dish out $3000 for a new set of Rays. But don't get me wrong, I still want them. If you find a used set in pretty good to decent condition, then by all means, jump on it. Cause I will for sure.

Time for new rims for me to this spring. Gotta save up during the winter, me poor now. I'm thinking of the Konig Feathers in silver since my car is silver and nothing really goes well with silver except to colour match. lol.

The weights not that bad, 17in at 17lb's. The 15in one is only 13.5lb's. But 15 is to small, it won't fit over my brakes. Not the lightest but hella better then my old rims. Now tires, I dont know whcih tires to get. I know I'm gonna be getting a set of BF Goodridge R1's for the track, but I don't know what to get for the street.

See I would get Konigs IF they made an original design not some copy of Adavn RG's. Or the popular Rota Slipstream that are clones of Spoon / Desmond. I support those who originally created it. If it comes with a price tag, well, let it be and get them when I can afford them.

Some people don't know they are knowoffs, and I don't bash on them. I hate on those who knowingly buys Rotas knowing they are knowoffs of Spoon's.

Anyways, this is a very big problem in the industry. Seibon, Carbon Creations, Rota, Motegi, and the lot make some replicas the general mass doesn't know and call them their newest design. Voltex, who makes aero parts for time attack LanEvo's stopped making their hoods because Seibon and Carbon creations started making carbon copies of their CF hood and wing. Desmond stopped making their RegaMasters because it has now become that people buys Rota Slipstreams and those knowoffs.

I'm currently working with a few guys from SoCal to get a license plate holder that says: I *broken heart logo* your fake rims.
We're hoping it was catch on.

Well, I agree with the knock off products, which is probably one of the main reasons Greddy (Trust) filed for bankrupcy a couple months ago. Now theres so much little companies making parts for almost less becuse their not the one doing the R&D and not paying for R&D therefore, less price. But you get what you pay for in quality.

Have you seen the pic's of someone running Rota's on the Nurgburgring (sp?) in a 500hp civic. After he came off the tack the spokes were angled and not straight and the offset was not the same on that one wheel. *edit* pics been taken down, dont know why. sorry.

Another reason people turn to knock offs is because the Major companies like Spoon, Greedy, or Mugen or whatever don't make products for their specific vehicles. Well, rims and engine parts are a different story.

You can also make decals along with the licence plate holders that you can stick on your back window.

Thanks for clearing up the whole knock off rims stuff. I'm new to the whoel tuner scene and it's hard to keep track of whats what since theirs so many companies out there now. Don't even know which ones to support.

Posted by me on another website. It was a loose bolt that sent the disk brake right on the wheel. Maybe TE's would've withstood the hit but with some serious damage.
It really takes some time and research to know stuff. I've done some research on my own everytime I switch cars. I make sure I don't get knowoffs.

    mmm
well to be realistic, stick with 17s
not many cars are appropriate with 18s anyway
they'll look better i'm sure of that, performance wise not so sure...

and yeh.. i dun wanna pay 3k for rims either
i'm still waiting to find the car! >.<
see one tmr! hopefully its ok

and u know how much of a ridiculous ripoff everything here is in aussieland
avg pair of 17 volks would be abt 3k =(
of cos, thats not including rims >.<

  17. oh shi-

    me too lol

i could have gone in with the white cts, but that would look sooo wrong considering all of the cars in there are all japanese lol

my friend owns a tsx in the bunch.

    edit: my baller wheels

-shock lol. Good luck. And if ever you need any pointers don't hesitate to bug me. And talking about saving up... I just realized how much it is to build my "realistic" daily driven track slut.
    Nissan Skyline R32 4 door with a dead RB20DET 5000$
    R33 RB26DETT 3500$
    R33 RB25 transmission 750$
Mods/ maintenance ( FMIC, cams, air filter, ECU, turbos, rebuild?) 4000$
Coilovers/ control arms, HICAS delete 2000$
R32 GTR rims + some good rubber 2000$
    R32 GTR bumper hood = 750$
and I need decent seats and steering wheel...
    it's already 18k for a 17 yrs old car.

dann, nice baller rims. -lol How much do they weigh?
