Do you hoard? Take more than needed so you can save it for later, even if you can't think of when you would need it (often as much as you can get)? I grew up with a mother that hoards, and I admit it influences me to hoard as well. But it's really cheap of someone to do so. So i'm trying to stop doing it. Now when I watch others do it, sometimes I get a little disgusted.
it depends on what it is... i mean honestly, if a box of toilet paper was on sale for like $1 and u hoard like a yrs supply... would u rly feel guilty? lol its toilet paper ffs! besides... u'll have to live through people watching u load 500lbs of Charmins in ur truckbed... haha good trade off if u ask me
meh, my mom does it too, if your buying something that is significantly on sale why wouldnt you grab as much as possible, especially if its an item that you know you will use over a long period of time. Its just good fiscal management. If i had a wife who passed up a buy 1 get 1 free deal on something that i knew we would need eventually she'd be gettin the ol' backhand to the head. Who cares about being 'cheap'. Unless you're like on a reality TV show with people judging your every move, id just do it; your wallet will thank you in the long run.
i do it sometimes...depending on what it is...like say tights are on discount, i can always use tights so i just buy a few extra pairs since they cant go bad or anything.... i dont c whats wrong with it... especially if u have a big family its a good thing... can save a lotta money wor...as long as u dont over do it...so to an certain extend its ok la...
i mean buying excessive amount of stuff. Like people who buy enough of one item for a year and often have so much that it ends up expiring before than can use it. Like someone who sees something on sale and buys a few extra that's alright. BUt someone who sees something on sale and ends up clearing out half the bin. Like my mom bought shoes in different sizes for me and my sister that we would wear when we grew to that size (many years later). And it's not like our family was poor. Or when moving that you take everything with you including the paper plates. Because you can't bear to lose the few dollars than you spent on it.
If it's just a few that's saving, if it's as much as you can grab that's hording A few extra to me doesn't sound like hording, but more than you will use over even a long period of time, that is hording. Like another example. I was working on a volunteer project with someone and when we got supplies he took EVERYTHING (and half of the stuff he didn't even know what he would do with it). He wanted everything including stuff we didn't use. In my head I'm thinking "hey dude lay off, other people will need some stuff" I just more polietly argued with him for us to only take what we needed
meh depends what it is... buy low sell high for electronics doesn't bother me =/ this... wtf? i understand the logic... just that's a little too far imo... i mean sure maybe when u were like infant to toddler age cuz ur shoe sizes are different like every month... but damn many years later as u grow into them? i don't rly see a problem with this one i mean, they're paper plates u can just slide'm in a box or under ur car seat while moving not a big deal right?
Wow ive never really heard of the word 'hoard-ing'.... Ummm...well after reading some posts guess i dun hoard either....if things are on offer i shall buy a few more...depending on how muchy i use it and how cheap it is.. But yeshh...ive seen it happen before..but mebe its more greed this than 'hoard' i used to know this family who were all up for taking freebies as well...and dun get me wrong i likey getting the odd freebie here and there...(dunno why but free stuff is always nicer haha)...well anyways one time i went shopping with them and there was people handing out free samples of chocolates... They had a few each..enjoyed it and went for more...to the point where the lady said to them "these are for other people"...it was so embarrassing...and the fam had to argue with her saying.."its not like you paid for them...you're doing this for a company.."..blah blah...
LOL -bowroflarms A lot of stuff that people hoard is stuff that doesnt generally go off like toilet paper or bathroom stuff that has a long shelf live. Makes sense
I guess I don't hoard. I'll buy extra quantities if it's really cheap like toilet paper/napkins/non-perishable (ish) stuff to save money though. I do get disgusted at people hoarding stuff. A few months ago, a grocery store was giving away free bottles of vitamin water for people to try outside. Some lady came and stuffed her entire purse and left. A few minutes later, she comes back with her car and makes her...six kids take the rest of the bottles and dump them into her trunk...while everyone around was like WTF
