While reading this story, my sympathy went towards the waitress and not the customers. Give the waitress a break. She might be new or does not have the experience or the knowledge to deal with something like that. The manager was not there; that's that. Was it really necessary to go around showing everyone the cockroach and disgusting the rest of the customers there? Soooo immature. They should've made sure to get in touch with the manager asap to let them know of the cockroach story to make sure they get it taken care of rather than cause such a scene at the place. It could've been a mistake...it could've been carelessness... Give them a chance to clean it up instead of making them lose business at a time like this. It is so unnecessary to create a Facebook group for that.

    Kinda ironic isn't it...
Such mistake should not be allowed in such a restaurant (Tea Shop)

and in our society, it's all about customer service and in my perspective, I think they totally failed.. (Epic Fail)
and they didn't really blame the whole thing on the waitress, they just wanted the manager's name and phone # and it's her fault that she did not do so...

I have to admit, showing it around the "Tea Shop" is rather unecessary and a bit overdone, but I believe they did the right thing anyhow...

did you read clearly? they did not mean to cause a scene and asked politely to get in contact with a manager or anyone in charge but was DENIED How can it be a mistake to have a roach in a drink and not know about it and how can a restaurant be open when it is infected with insects. This place is plain disgusting and you do not know what goes on at the back of the house and how they make food or drinks.
The first thing a server should do is apologize and NOT blame it on the customer in this particular situation when evidence show that the restaurant is fully responsible. They are not trying to make things worst but give a chance for the restaurant to recover from the service error which did not happen therefore they are getting evidence from other people to prove a point. Because the restaurant did not take responsibility in the first place and were not cooperative, a facebook group was perfect to make their point.

lets all go to the destiny @ richmond hill...nice and better girls ;)

I dont see many reason why they should make some shit up anyways...
But yes, it is one sided, but I don't think the story is off by that much...

The major problem is the cockroaches and that itself bascially ends the story...

the waitress was an idiot to make such a scene about the roaches...i would have just comped the bill made sure things were good and ended it at that

not being racist but this really sounds like a place that is run by chinese people where customer service is at the bottom of the list and turning a profit at the top of the list...obviously they forgot that in order to turn a profit they need good customer service....they failed there

  16. lol whether or not the customers have twisted their story, it still ended up to the point that cops were involved.

and if that happens, the waitresses have done something wrong.

anyways, i can vouch for the customers, as i have been to this place several times, and the waitresses are pretty shitty at their jobs.

zeewee, you gotta understand that even if the customers might have gone overboard with their story, it must still hold a truth somewhere, and based on the fact that it escalated to cops presence, i wouldn't be surprised if the waitress acted like depicted in the customer's story.

the first order of business is "customer is always right", so it is the waitress' job to do anything and everything to fix the problem. 13% discount just shows she doesn't care for customer. not giving boss' number still shows she doesn't care for customer. and based on the customer's account of the boss' behavior, boss doesn't care for customer.

so whatever the waitress has to say for her side, it doesn't trump the facts of misconduct to a customer.

NOW, had the cops never came, and the boss showed up and spoken about it, and the waitress did what was supposed to be done to be considered good customer service, the customer wouldn't have needed to make up this story, if over exaggerated.

so honestly, unless the waitress says that she did not give the 13% discount, rather she automatically waived it, and she called her boss right away, or something that completely opposes the customer's story, it really doesn't matter what the waitress has to say about it.

the waitress is completely at fault here. and so is the boss.
