I don't think its that surprising. The xbox is hackable while the ps3 is not. Its more affordable than a ps3. Once they dropped the price and added a higher capacity hd, I could see the sales spike.

 

ps3 is down the drain man

the 360 is selling out because Tales of Vesperia was released... just like MGS4 sold about a million ps3's...

 

Here are the latest console hardware sales from Japan for the week of September 8 - 14. These stats i got from magicbox:

1. NDS Lite - 63,859 [2,109,508]
2. PSP - 30,156 [2,603,346]
3. Wii - 29,686 [2,023,624]
4. Xbox 360 - 28,188 [155,934]
5. PlayStation 3 - 8,053 [621,681]
6. PlayStation 2 - 7,669 [344,502]

 

it did out sell the PS3

 

it did out sell the ps3 by loads this month but overall the ps3 sales are still winning by miles...

 

Tale of Vesperia and Star Ocean helps a lot...

That and the fact the PS3 has no games that are exclusive to it, very few 'killer' titles and a much bigger price tag.

 

just goes to show, its all about the games, not really understanding why people act like a console selling because of games is a cheat or something, that's how it works.

Maybe Sony has run its course and so will M$ one day

 

ps3 needs lots of the "special" games with the ps2 won the last "war" with. Wii is got some very good titles (mario, Brawl, and some other which are good to motion control system) but the graphic (can't full HD), worser specs compared to xbox and ps3, and some less interesting titles the last months is not good.
Also thinking about buying a xbox360 (maybe next christmas) since it is cheap, full HD (I have a 42 ' tv), some nice games and the upcoming FFXIII.
Glad to see NDS still have a lead. We have one (pink) and the games a really creative

aint gona cut it.... link a proper site showing proper figures, not a random PS fansite, not saying it aint true, i dont know, but the proof provided was shoddy

Xbox 360 wasn't a bad machine. if it come with a blue ray drives will be perfect.

 

360 has about 8 mill more units sold then ps3 as of this date
