does anyone have any suggestions for an IPOD alternative..? it doesnt' have to play like movies and videos or games and stuff...but must provide quality..... im not into tech news, so i wanted to know if there was a good alternative or if there will be in near future
Flash or HDD? HDD alternatives.. well you're really only looking at Zune (Depending on availbility) and Archos-Archos tend to be more Movie orientated, whilst Zune is more a competitor with the iPod Classic Flash, well there are a lot more options, and each player comes down to what you need it for. If just for music playing, most of the well known brands can play videos now so it'll really depend on what you're looking for, memory, price, other features (like radio, microphone, SD expansion)
yea agreed, doesn't creative make hdd anymore btw? creative are quite gd as are sony. sony's player has rele gd sound quality i think better than the apple ipod but then again it doesn't have a large hard drive and is expensive. tbh the ipod is prob the best value for money with its hdd and the sound quality but thats cos its kind of got a monopoly and its designs are pretty immense as well.
i know someone suggested the zune but if you google current electronic news, microsoft isn't really putting to much attention in it. If you buy one, you might be getting one for your grand kids collection =)
Nope, Creative don't make HDD's anymore. however, if OP is interested, there are still some refurbs of their old HDD players online. The Zen XFi is alright according to reviews, but then again, it really depends if you need its features.
Creative Zen Xfi is the MP3, which supposedly has got xfi tech (the chip inside it emulates x fi sound) in built in it, giving it "CD quality" sound. But yea, the x-fi is also a sound card.
zune all the way!!! i have an 80 gig zune and i am still loving it. i had a 30 gig ipod video before and it just kept lagging whenever i dump a whole bunch of songs on it. not happening with the zune!
The Zune I have is the 120 gig version and has a 3 inch screen Good enough for me although it is a little thicker than the ipod touch.
In my life i only used Archos, Sony and Ipod For movies i would think archos especially they enable you to play RMVB files by having RM plugin Sony and ipod let's you compress music though only problem is that sonicstage doesn't read japanese or korean files and their a lot itune haters ;p
The new Archos with the touch screen is great but the bad thing with the Archos is they make you pay extra for all the extra plugins you'll probably need. Other than that, it's a great player, it also comes in version up to 250 gigs of storage
i would go with a cowon since they are suppose to have one of best audio quality on the market. its way better than ipod audio quality
I prefer Cowon, Samsung or iriver, thier mp3 players will give u a much better quality. but don't forget to buy good earphones.
Meizu audio players, got the miniplayer (8GB)..it does what it does, play music. About the Zune, Microsoft didn't promote the Zune at all here in Europe..Apple got a dominant place here, 2nd place is the Creative.
