finding cheap used textbooks is the way to go since you're probably not even going to touch it after you're finished with it anyways

Tell me about it.. I'm in chemical engineering. I bought 4 textbooks and that costed me around $700CAD. Tutition is already expensive for engineering but they also make the textbooks so expensive, that really pisses me off.

I always went with used textbooks and when I can, will purchase from Amazon EU. The take 2-3 weeks to ship but new textbooks for less $$. But you can't really avoid txtbooks, just ways to save a few extra beans.

For this semester, I got all my books on Amazon (5 in total). I'm pretty sure I've saved about $50-$70 worth of money than if I were to buy them from school.

Spent around $600-700 on books for my final semester, saved at least ~$100 ordering from half.com. It sucks that my school publishes many of the books, which can't be found online, so I end up having to pay the full prices for them. Books for grad. school is going to kill.

yeah academic books are soooo expensive, so i spend my time in the library instead ~ this way i can proper study without any distraction at home. also, can just get the departmentyou're studying in to sign for you requesting journals for free :D the department pays for it, you dont ~

yeah brand new science text books can cost like £89 in the uk.. i would never afford that. usually i would get older versions from amazon or something.

  12. out of all the books i need which cost around £35 - £45, one book stands out costing close to £120 including delivery.

with a little searching i managed to find last years edition, paperback, used, £15... oh yeaaaaaaaaaaaah
