I wanna buy a new laptop computer, wanna buy MacBook(not MacBook Pro), but friends asked me to buy Fujitsu(or some Japanese brand, they said better), what should I choose? My budget is around $800-$1500.
    Thanks!

Either the Dell studio XPS 13 or the Macbook. Both are excellent choices.

Personally I love my macbook, its probably the best purchase i've made in a while. Mac OS X is extremely efficient, and the multi touch trackpad is a great feature. You might want to hit up a store like Bestbuy and play around with a macbook and see whether you like it.

Apple products come at a pretty high premium unfortunately. If you compare the specs of a base macbook to an equivalent 1400 dollar XPS laptop, you'll find that the XPS has like twice the technology, but I still think its worth paying more for the apple. You'll end up with a very well built, long lasting piece of tech, and to be honest, I don't mind paying a premium for brand and style.

    ^ Ditto.

  6. i mind paying for brand and style lol

personally, i'd take the xps over mac any day, due to excellent performance compared to macbook.
and you can't say xps looks like shit O_O

i'd rather have the xps style, standing out in the middle of macbook people lol

    pros of xps:

    better gaming performance
    better hardware performance and specification
    looks good

    pros of macbook:

    excellent and efficient OS
looks good too, but everyone has it =(

i would consider the macbook specifically for the OS. otherwise, xps for hardware.

Mac...hand down if u really wanna to switch...IF NOT, Lenovo/IBM is the next best alternative! :D
For Mac, not sure they have worked out some of the problems with the video cards on the early productions of this new gen Mac yet...

the mac book wheel seems good for people who have arthritis but if u want to type quickly, it's not going to beat a keyboard in terms of speed.

    The_Jelly NSFW? :P

Well, if you're planning to play games on it, stuff like cod5 and stuff I'd go with the XPS because you get so much more for what you pay for in terms of hardware. I still think the macbook looks better though.

Fujitsu has the highest built quality on notebooks but there is a premium price to pay. Asus isn't a bad brand plus price of them include accidental LCD breakage, water damage as well as 2 year global warranty

^^my other laptop is a Fujitsu..build quality is ok...I would rate it on or below average. Now, its collecting dust in the closet. I wouldn't recommend it over lenovo, which is my current one, build quality is top-notch, feels much better than Fujitsu imo..

Macs are over priced... So for the same price, you can get something better like a Sony. They have mac like keyboards.
