No comments? I atleast expected an opinion from the more vocal of the intelligent design believers round here. . . Interesting.
You know, despite their foaming at the mouth responses, they're not just lurking, laying in wait for just such an opportunity, all day and all night, ever watchful... -bowroflarms You just posted this one day ago, so give it some time; believe you me, they will come. Personally, I can't wait... -innocent2
If you've even joined in the discussions in the religions section you'd see that religious topics such as these bring the believers out of the wood works pretty fast. I guess I'm just as interested as you to hear their opinions.
LOL, I purposely avoid those discussions simply because they're never ending no matter the "proof" of the argument. But I doubt if this recent turn would be looked upon as anything of an epiphany. Most fundamental Christians don't believe in the catholic church anyway, so the Vatican, as far as they're concerned, is just another negative force or evil that they must combat. These things are sort of like the OJ Simpson murder trial, there will be some jurors who won't convict no matter the evidence, because the truth was never really their agenda in the first place. Its sort of like say, if you go to the grocery store, grab a bunch of items, and then go to the check out. If you really want to participate in the process, you'll wait while the clerk uses a trustworthy method of validation (the bar code scanner), to tally up your purchase, and then pay what the register shows. However, if you never really did want to participate, your standing there on the check out line is a sham. When the clerk tallies up the final figures, you then offer the check out clerk whatever it is that you want, regardless of what shows on the register. This basically means that you never really entered the argument, but pretended to. Once you were allowed to participate, you then offered a pronouncement, which was your ultimate goal. Such is the status with religious arguments. People go into them not to evaluate, consider proofs, or to "tally up" (if you will) any new evidence. They're there to let you know what they think, and that's all they're there for. Changing their mind? Ha! It never even entered the equation. -huh
@ralphrepo I always thought that the Vatican is the Mecca of Christianity. If Christianity were a business **ehem* the CEO would reside in the Vatican. @brown_bear Surely people that believes and debates so much in support of IT would reply and not just flat out ignore this article regardless of where I post it. And it's a news article and thought it should go here since this is neither a thought or an idea on religion(s) or philosophies.
