Now .. I haven't been on my facebook account for some times now but I finally made an effort today to update my profile there. Guess what I learned, one of my friends from college has deleted me. I was like fucking shocked. I usually erased those I don't really know well but this person was a close friend. Kinda pissed me off so that's it. No more friend with this person. I don't think it's overreacting. Happened to ya'll before??

So you still talk to him in real life or not?

Don't get to upset about friends or not friends, after all its just an online social networking site

yeah .. every now and then. i know it's a social networking site but it's just wrong to just delete me .. know what i mean?

if i added someone from the forum and i get erased or i erased someone else, it's fine cuz we don't know each other in real life but this is different. how can you not take it personally.

Maybe he wanted a free whopper, there was a thing where you had to delete some friends to get a burger and you didnt make the cut :p

have you clicked on her profile if its still active coz if shes closed her account they are removed
from other people's list coz i used to have a facebook acc and got bored so i closed it and my
friends asked me how come they've been removed and i just told them i closed it...so that
could be the reason why you've been deleted....i dunno though...but does it really matter...?..

The idea of rejection can be emotionally traumatizing to anyone, especially those of us that think ourselves to be sound and worthy of friendship. That said however, people lose associations with others for many reasons, some personal while some are strictly political. In the course of one's professional life, especially for a lawyer, facebook is no longer a 'social' outlet, but a public window into the personal contacts of an attorney. Every single one of those 'friends' may one day have to withstand public or political scrutiny; would it be wise for any professional to have just anyone in their profile? Facebook may have started as a social network. However, it has since become a public record of YOUR social network. So anyone who wants to see what kind of friends you hang with, now has an immediate and handy reference source. For people who have professional and political vulnerabilities, this is a wide open achilles heel that any smart attorney would immediately purge. It isn't about friends or not. If you're in the public eye, facebook is nothing but window dressing and eye candy (if one's smart), or a career derailer (if one's really stupid enough to use it to detail one's real personal life). :wtf:

So, IMHO, get over it. I don't think it has anything to do with you at all. For example:

In a rush? For a quick synopsis, just read the red highlighted lines.

I know the article only has tangential relevance, but I'm sure readers can appreciate my meaning. Facebook is just another publicly available point of scrutiny. For anyone in the public eye, that can be professionally deadly. Simple word of advice, all you youngin's and students who are now on facebook; clean up your shit now. Or else 15 years from now, when you're applying for a hotly sought after position, facebook archives may pop up and blow you out of the water... -shock

Or as I tell my kids,
"there are no such things as accidents, only lack of forethought..." LOL...

Having a friend like that who needs an enemy.
Call her up but don't mention you got deleted off her facebook account. Just play fishing and wait till what she would say.

Example; uh, I read the news that myspace is going for a transformation where the website is now more secure to add friends as well as block off the unwanted invitees. Sooner or later, she will realized that, "ohh, I deleted u from the list.... and her explaination....."

nah .. that's ok. i have a lot of lawyer friends on facebook; not just her. but ralph did bring up a good point. when i added her, she was listed as single but two days later, she changed to married. her bf or now husband always hated me since college and i dunno why.

i was upset cuz we were close (or at least once upon a time now). and NO, she didn't delete her acct. well, that's it for our friendship .. over it now.

    what about ya'll? ya'll don't get upset???
